Happy new week to you all. This beautiful morning, I'll be sharing with us how to make a back pocket for a pant trouser.
Back pocket is one of the most essential parts of pant trouser someone should take a serious look at when sewing a trouser because if it's not properly fixed and neat it reduces the quality of the product so today I will be taking us through how I practice to fix back pocket to a pant trouser step by step.
The process is easy and you can try it at home if you have a sewing machine knowledge.
Material to be used.
- The main material to be used is the pieces of materials left after cutting the trouser. For the one I worked on, I used 7inches by 2.5.
- Paper stay.
- Pocketine.
- Thread.
Sewing process.
- After cutting out the pieces you want to use for your pocket, you also cut the paper stay of the the same size then gum the stay to the fabric using ur iron.
- Then you pick the back, mark the centre from the waist for ur dart then sew your dart downwards by 3inches.
- After ironing the dart, mart the point for pocket, a standard size for pocket is 5 inches. So mark ur pocket size at the stop point of the darts dividing the pocket into two using the dart.
- Then place then fabric you applied paper stay by The line and sew a quarter inch for both up and down, thereafter u cut and notch.
- Fold in inside by what u see which was a quarter inch then sew the notch part and iron.
