Decide what career to study

You finished your basic education and you still don't know what your vocation is or what career to study?

With a little self-exploration it will be very easy to discover all your hidden potential and discover your vocation in the best possible way.

1.- Start by exploring your passions and what interests you:

Ask yourself: What do I enjoy doing the most? It has nothing to do with the things you are good at, but those where you really enjoy and time goes by without knowing how much you have invested while doing the activity.

2.-Focus on your aspirations:

Leave aside what society expects from you, that you come from a generation of doctors or physicians and you must follow their legacy is outdated. Choose a career based on your own strengths, virtues and interests.

3.-Make a list of all your strengths and skills:

Really think about what you are good at, including your physical and mental abilities. If you feel you can't do it ask a family member or friend for an opinion, they will tell you what things they have seen you be very good at, and start making your list.

4.-Look to the future...how would you like to be remembered?

Do you want to be remembered someday as someone who fulfilled the dreams and expectations of others or do you want to be the one who did their life's work?

5.- Do some research on the responsibilities that come with each career, for example if you are passionate about animals but are afraid of blood it is very obvious that you could not be a veterinarian, then you could find an alternate career like pet groomer for example or consider opening your own pet store, there is always a way to support this cause without seeing all that blood.

6.- Take a vocational orientation test where you could find out about your strengths, interests and weaknesses. Nowadays it can be done online at sites such as

7.-Do an internet search to find internships in the field you would like to work or volunteer in, in practice you will find out if this is really the right job for you.

8.- Do not think so much about the money you will earn but about the desire you will have to attend your job every day, when you have passion for what you do everything else flows properly without much effort.

9.-Always continue with your education, keep yourself informed and obtain certificates that endorse and strengthen the career you choose, so you will have more options to expand in your labor field.

10.- Check the university pensums, mark all the elements that interest you, in which subjects you will have more potential and how many are your weakness, there you will know if you have inclination or not for that career.

Above all, be patient, choose something that you are really passionate about and that makes you feel happy every day of your life, it is worthless to have a profession that you hate and that will cost you your happiness for the rest of your life. I hope you find these super tips useful.
