Hello friends, greetings! today I bring my first post where I study a nebula little by little I am learning to dominate my telescope and to obtain better results with astrophotography, the name given to this nebula is Messier 78 or it is also known as: "NGC 2068" exploring a little scientific references I was able to discover that it is one of the easiest to locate in the sky but there are not many studies on it! my post is to explain a little about this beautiful nebula!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ

There are many astronomical terms that we must know to understand what this nebula is about, firstly it is defined as a "reflection" nebula, just like me, you may wonder what this is? this term means that it is a cloud of "dust" that has that aspect because it reflects the light of many stars, to locate it we must go to the constellation of Orion.๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿค“
๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿง

I want to tell you that although my photo is very different from the photo that I took from NASA, you will hardly be able to take a NASA-quality photo with a telescope that you buy on the internet, so my photo is very good, to see better results we would have to equip ourselves with a 4000 euro telescope! The constellation was discovered in the 17th century by a French astronomer named "Mรฉchain" this event occurred exactly in 1780.๐Ÿค“๐Ÿคฏ
๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Later in the same year, another French astronomer "Messier" included this discovery in his scientific record. We must add another interesting fact about the nebula, which is that it has a pair of stars that have a magnitude of 10, the stars "HD 38563A and HD 38563B wikipedia" are responsible for allowing the nebula to be visible with a telescope since the brightness is absorbed by the dust cloud of M78.๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ
๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ’ก

If you want to know the exact distance of M78 from our solar system then we must travel more than 1600 light years away, in general we could say that this nebula has a magnitude of 8 if we average the brightness of all its stars! many comet enthusiasts make the mistake of mistaking m78 for a "comet" as it features a "tail" like a comet!๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿค“
๐Ÿง ๐Ÿคฏ

You look to have so much fun with your telescope. I envy you. Unfortunately for me, I have no time for such a hobby.

Thanks also for sharing those great pictures! They are really nice to see.

THANK FRIEND!

screenshot_20220117_172538.jpg I think I uploaded a photo where you can see the 3 stars of Orion and on the left the nebula, I remember that when I entered the coordinates I was looking for m78, now I could have made a mistake xD
