How are you, friends? The other day I was talking to my friend @morethanbooks about the series we wanted to watch soon and the subject came up of what our favorite series of all time are.
Hablando sobre esto pensamos que sería una buena idea compartir un nuevo reto en la plataforma sobre las tres (3) series que más nos han gustado, incluyendo cualquier serie o miniserie, en curso o finalizada, que queramos comentar.
Talking about this we thought it would be a good idea to share a new challenge on the platform about the series we liked the most, including any series or mini-series, ongoing or finished, that we want to comment on.
Serie 1, Serie 2, Serie 3
Claramente cada uno tendrá sus razones para considerar buena o no tan buena una serie. Quizás así podamos recomendarnos series, o quizás llevarnos la sorpresa de que alguien considera entre las mejores a nuestra serie menos favorita. Ojo, yo no soy una experta en el área, así que aquí verás una opinión basada en unos gustos específicos, nada bastante profesional.
Clearly everyone will have their reasons for considering a series good or not so good. Maybe this way we can recommend series to each other, or maybe we can be surprised that someone considers our least favorite series among the best. I am not an expert in the area, so here you will see an opinion based on specific tastes, nothing really professional.

Skins (2007-2013).
Esta serie te muestra a lo largo de sus primeras 6 temporadas cómo se supone que es la típica vida de los adolescentes en Europa, específicamente en Inglaterra. Cuenta con un spin-off y una adaptación estadounidense.
Para mí es simplemente una obra. En realidad, esta serie mostraba historias muy rudas; los protagonistas debían enfrentar cosas bastante fuertes que requerían de una madurez de su parte que no poseían y que, en verdad, no tenían que poseer, a fin de cuentas eran adolescentes y esto sería algo que les marcaría la vida.
Sin embargo, en mi opinión, dejaba un poderoso mensaje sobre la importancia de los seres queridos, sea tu familia y/o tus amigos, en los momentos difíciles. Aunque todo vaya mal, siempre se puede volver a empezar.
This serie shows you throughout its first 6 seasons how the typical life of teenagers in Europe is supposed to be, specifically in England. It has a spin-off and an American adaptation.
For me it is simply gold. Actually, this series showed very rough stories; the main characters had to face quite strong things that required a maturity on their part that they didn't possess and, in fact, they didn't have to possess, after all they were teenagers and this would be something that would mark their lives.
However, in my opinion, it left a powerful message about the importance of loved ones, be it your family and/or your friends, in difficult times. Even if everything goes wrong, you can always start over.

American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace (2018).
Esta es una mini-serie que nos cuenta la secuencia de algunos eventos ocurridos antes, durante y después del asesinato del famoso diseñador de modas Gianni Versace, siendo el protagonista de la serie el asesino del mencionado diseñador.
Me encantó esta serie porque se mantuvo constantemente buena desde el principio hasta el final, algo que a muchas series les cuesta mantener.
Las actuaciones fueron absolutamente increíbles. Aunque muchos resaltan lo talentoso que es Darren Criss, que para nada lo niego ya que él podría considerarse la esencia de esta serie, para mí el actor que más destacó fue Cody Fern. Durante sus pocas apariciones me enganchó con su quietud que transmitía a la vez mucho.
Por supuesto que comencé a ver la serie porque aparecía Edgar Ramírez, pero me decepcionó un poco su poca participación. Por suerte, el resto del elenco me hizo olvidar este mal sabor porque mis expectativas no se cumplieron.
This is a mini-series that tells us the sequence of some events that occurred before, during and after the murder of the famous fashion designer Gianni Versace, being the protagonist of the series the murderer of that designer.
I loved this series because it was consistently good from start to finish, something that many series find difficult to maintain.
The performances were absolutely incredible. Although many people stress how talented Darren Criss is, which I don't deny at all since he could be considered the essence of this series, for me the actor who stood out the most was Cody Fern. During his few appearances he hooked me with his quietness that transmitted a lot at the same time.
Of course I began to watch the series because Edgar Ramirez appeared, but I was a little disappointed by his lack of participation. Fortunately, the rest of the cast made me forget this bad taste because my expectations were not met.

The Originals (2013 - 2018).
Este es el spin-off de la serie The Vampire Diaries, la cual también está entre mis favoritas. En esta serie nos cuentan cómo es la vida de los vampiros originales en la ciudad de Nueva Orleans, su hogar.
La familia Maikelson, desde sus inicios, ha sido una familia bastante problemática tanto internamente por cada uno de sus miembros como afectada por cosas externas. Ellos, básicamente, “no salían de una”. Sin embargo, la serie te muestra como ellos pondrán siempre a su familia de primero y darán la cara unos por otros, pase lo que pase, aunque verse involucrados con esta familia casi siempre tenga un mal desenlace.
A pesar de tantos problemas, creo que la manera en que se muestra cómo ellos los resolvían, a la vez que luchaban con sus propios demonios, a veces aceptándolos y a veces huyendo de ellos, además de lidiar con la “herencia familiar” de la que no podían escapar, fue lo que me atrapó de la serie.
Debo admitir, sin embargo, que no me agradó su final ya que considero que personajes tan icónicos como lo vendrían siendo los primeros vampiros de la historia, los que dan origen a toda esta raza (obviamente, en el mundo de la serie), murieran de la forma en que murieron. Pero bueno, prefiero quedarme con los momentos que sí me gustaron.
This is the spin-off of the series The Vampire Diaries, which is also among my favorites. In this series they tell us what life is like for the original vampires in the city of New Orleans, their home.
The Maikelson family, since its inception, has been quite a troubled family both internally for each of its members and affected by external things. They basically "didn't come out of one". However, the series shows you how they will always put their family first and stand up for each other, no matter what, even though getting involved with this family almost always has a bad outcome.
In spite of so many problems, I think that the way it shows how they solved them, while at the same time fighting their own demons, sometimes accepting them and sometimes running away from them, as well as dealing with the "family inheritance" from which they could not escape, was what trapped me from the series.
I must admit, however, that I didn't like its ending since I consider that such iconic characters as the first vampires in history, the ones that give origin to this whole race (obviously, in the world of the series) died the way they did. But well, I prefer to keep the moments I did like.

Luego de escribir este post quedé con ganas de volver a ver estas series y revivir esos buenos momentos.

Skins me gustó bastante, también está en mi lista de series favoritas...toca temas bastantes fuertes por los que suelen pasar muchos adolescentes. Por otra parte, te cuento que The Originals y yo no hicimos conexión jajajan no sé porqué pero no llegó a atraparme tanto como lo hizo The Vampire Diaries.

La serie The Assassination of Gianni Versace es una de mis favoritas, impecable y adictiva como cualquier trabajo de Ryan Murphy. Si no la has visto te recomiendo Hollywood.
De los proyectos que conozco que Ryan está involucrado sólo he visto esta serie, Glee y el caso de OJ Simpson. Buenísimas todas. Buscaré la serie que me recomiendas. Gracias, Sofi :)

Skin es toda una joyita, solo he visto esa, la segunda me llama mucho la atención,tal vez le eche un ojo, realmente me animare a unirme aunque se me sera muy difícil tengo una lista muy larga de series que me marcaron. Saludos!

Estoy muy de acuerdo contigo, el Asesinato de Gianni Versace fue increíble, en especial la actuación del asesino. Pero, en cuanto a The Originals, no me enganchó tanto como The Vampire Diaries. Me encanta ésta iniciativa ♥
Una serie fascinante, de verdad. Sé que poner a The Originals por encima de TVD puede causarle ruido a algunos pero creo que esta se mantuvo mejor que TVD, que al final desmejoró un poco. Un abrazo ❤️
