Having A Merry Heart

in GEMS3 years ago

Sadness has never accomplished anything good because negative actions cannot produce positive results. You may not be in control of how life treats you but you can either choose to be happy or sad. Sadness is a punishment someone gives to himself for an offence of someone else. Even in the face of turbulence, you can choose to remain joyful by focusing on the good side of life.

In the deepest of bads, there is always rays of good things that you can focus on, it is only dependent on you choice. Trust me, if you want to be happy, you will see enough reasons to help your happiness. In the same way, if you want to be sad, there will still be reasons to sadden you. Just like every other thing, happiness and sadness can be sensed and people might relate with you on the basis of what they have sensed about you.

There is a level of attraction and complementary beauty that comes with just being happy because it also reflects on the way you smile. To have a little workout on this: face your mirror in the house and give out a heart-felt smile, then give off a sad look. Now tell me, which version of you do you prefer? The happy look or the sad look? Obviously the happy look because it makes you more beautiful and that is why people smile while taking photographs.

People tend to become more attracted to people that have happy souls than people that are always frowning and complaining about just everything. Being happy does not mean that you are living in a perfect world nor that you have all your needs met. It only shows that you are contended with life and you have hope that tomorrow will bring something better.

Being sad at your situation does not make the situation better, it does not also make you feel better. Rather, it worsens the situation and creates uneasiness to act positively to the situation. However, when you carry a merry soul, you will find out that there is an easiness that is released within you and the strength to undertake the tasks becomes available. This just brought to mind a verse from the Holy Book:

A merry heart does good... a broken spirit makes the bones dry. [Culled from the Holy Book]

This goes to prove that bearing sadness in the soul will eventually weaken the person but being joyful will always bring gains. Always remember this; there is wisdom in doing what you know will bring gains to you. If there is gain in having a merry heart, then wisdom demands that you should make it part of your lifestyle.
