My friend @Maryed invited me to join this challenge whose goal is to empower women by describing ourselves with our best qualities, those that define us as people and make us literally shine wherever we go, those qualities that make us proud of ourselves and empowered.
Ciertamente, los roles de género no son tan rígidos como lo eran décadas atrás, sin embargo, aún quedan huellas que limitan a las mujeres de hoy en día en muchos sentidos. Por el hecho de que algunas de nosotras podamos estudiar y trabajar, vestirnos como queramos y ser lo que queramos, no quiere decir que todas las mujeres sean igualmente libres. La lucha es por todas. Algunas, incluso, han perdido la voz en medio de circunstancias terribles, y también debemos hablar por ellas.
Certainly, gender roles are not as rigid as they were decades ago, yet there are still marks that limit women today in many ways. Just because some of us can study and work, dress as we want and be what we want, does not mean that all women are equally free. The struggle is for all. Some have even lost their voices in the midst of terrible circumstances, and we must speak for them as well.
Este es el mejor momento para apoyarnos como mujeres, celebrar nuestros triunfos y acompañarnos en las derrotas. Solo nosotras sabemos lo que hemos tenido que pasar, en la calle, en el trabajo, en la universidad, para estar donde estamos. Seamos amables entre nosotras.
This is the best time to support us as women, to celebrate our victories and to support us in our defeats. Only we know what we have had to go through, on the streets, at work, at the university, to be where we are. Let's be kind to each other.
¿Qué me empodera? / What empowers me?
Mi tenacidad. Es una fuerza interna que me motiva no solo a alcanzar metas inmediatas, sino también sueños a largo plazo. Es una especie de motor que tengo que me hace querer aprovechar el tiempo al máximo y aprender de todo. He entendido que no hay imposibles, y precisamente eso es lo que me impulsa a dar lo mejor de mi y ponerme unos límites muy altos.
My tenacity. It's an inner strength that motivates me to achieve not only immediate goals, but also long-term dreams. It's a kind of driver that I have that makes me want to make the most of my time and learn about everything. I have understood that there are no impossibles, and that is precisely what drives me to give my best and set very high limits.
Mi sensibilidad. Algunas veces no me gusta esa parte de mi, pero estoy aprendiendo a quererla. Siento todo con mayor intensidad, eso me ha permitido conectar fácilmente con las personas, y explotar también mi lado creativo desde este aspecto emocional. Además, me ha servido para captar las emociones de los demás e intentar ayudarles de algún modo, algo útil en mi carrera.
My sensitivity. Sometimes I don't like that part of me, but I'm learning to love it. I feel everything with greater intensity, which has allowed me to easily connect with people, and also to develop my creative side from this emotional aspect. Also, it has helped me to capture the emotions of others and try to help them in some way, something useful in my career

Hermosas palabras las que escribes y muy certeras, no existen imposibles...todas las limitaciones se encuentran en nuestra mente y si logramos vencerlas seremos capaces de lograr absolutamente todo lo que nos propongamos. Muy bonita imagen de portada, escogistes muy bien..! El caso es que el reto ha dejado interesantes escritos sobre el empoderamiento de la mujer, entre otras cosas. ¿sabes cómo tratan a las mujeres afganas? Pienso que en nuestra sociedad occidental, las mujeres tienen muchos más espacios que aquellas...un abrazo, buena publicación..!
