Garlic Pepper Roasted Makhane (Fox Nuts) !

Makhana (Fox Nuts) is delicious, healthy snack. It comes with a lot of health benefits. It is actually considered superior to other dry fruits available in the market. It is available raw in market and can be cooked to different flavours. These days, they also have flavoured makhanas, but they are quite expensive to I prefer buying them raw and adding flavours at home which can be easily done. Garlic Pepper makhane has a unique mix of Indian spices with oregano that are themselves very good for health. And when mixed with makhane, they become a super healthy munching snack.

Ingredients:

• 200 gms Makhana

• 1 TBSP Black Pepper

• Oregano

• Salt as per taste

• 3 Spoons Garlic Butter

Method

Step 1: Take garlic butter in a pan and heat it. If you don’t have garlic butter at home, just make garlic paste with fresh garlic cloves and add it to usual salted butter. Once the butter is hot, add the makhanas and roast it on medium flame. Note that at no point the flame should be turned high because this would overcook the makhanas.

Step 2: When the makhanas are properly roasted, add all the spices and mix well.

Step 3: Makhanas are now ready to much now. These can also be stored for later consumption.
