The Rising Sun
A friend of mine messaged me recently to let me know that there was a Mega Yacht docked in New Bedford, and the best place to view it was from the Fairhaven Side at one of the piers looking across the water, so even though it was dark we decided to go and check it out and get a few shots which I will share with you in this post

The Pier that we were told about was probably a good viewing spot during the day when the fishing boats were out working,but at night they were back in port and blocked the view so we drove around looking for another spot to view the yacht, and our second stop was were we got these shots at night of it.
We did try again the next day during the day and found another spot with a good viewpoint for some day shots for a future post .
Rising Sun, is a 454-foot superyacht partly owned by billionaire American business magnate and Hollywood film executive David Geffen,
Rising Sun is a motor yacht designed by Jon Bannenberg, and built in 2004 by Germany's Lürssen for Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation, and last refitted in 2007. Rising Sun has been owned since 2010 by David Geffen, who had bought a half share of the yacht initially in late 2006. It reportedly cost over US$200 million to build.
A gym, a basketball court, a wine cellar and a movie theater are among the yacht's 82 rooms

Now I did hint about this yacht in another post recently so I thought I should do a post even though I am not that happy with these shots, I used totally the wrong settings for these, for one i was using a tripod so I should have set the iso to a lot lower setting rather than leaving it on automatic, and I was using an aperture of F25, which is far wider than I needed and i have no idea what I was thinking that night, or clearly, i was not thinking lOL

Wow, that is one big boat! The oranges in that first shot are pretty amazing. I think we are our own worst critic because these look like they turned out fantastic. I wonder how many other coal sights like this you will see in your new home!

Well apparently it is classed a mega yacht, but its big enough o be a cruise ship LOL
Yeah, we have seen a few of those here in Cape Town and one even hard a huge circle at the front as a private helicopter landing area.
Imagine that when you get to a city or a place of choice, then you simply call for a helicopter to take you shopping.
Some people live extremely extravagantly!
The money for one of those chopper trips can feed a thousand children for a month!
I would not be surprised to find this yacht has a Heli pad
Speaking of the money that could help so many others I was told by someone that with docking fees. And other expenses it’s costing close to a million a day to be docked there
That’s just crazy

Yeah, docking fees are indeed outrageous, as even here in a little private docking are it costs 300,000 per month to rent a parting space for smaller boats!
