Hive is a great community, and it will continue to be home for me. After the departure of the community from Steem, it took us time to think about the progress of the Typeearn app. We see the market we have for the app, and the things that are causing a bit of limitation for it. Steem/Hive Engine is great, but we needed more. One of this thing is to have a Smart contract, easy account registration and having our auth because most of our potential users could be below the age of the ToS of Hive, and the technical aspects of understanding the Hive chain.
At first, I sent a direct message to one of the Info Points of Hive, but she never replied. The content was about integrating our app on Hive. But I later realized the message wasn’t needed because of the things I pointed out in the first paragraph.
I(we) did some research on a blockchain that could make using typeearn easy for its users, and NEO was the chain we chose. We started our integration. The smart contract and the documentation were easy to deal with, and everything was smooth. The NEO development team are also very awesome with supports.
We projected that our app will be live back for our users 2 months ago, but we are still on it. This is because we are changing many features of the app. One of the big one is the feature that makes users limited in using our app. We have the badges — Ostrich, Penguin, Swan, Bustard, Pelican and Flamingo. These badges all had limits on Steem, but we are changing them. We are building Typeearn on a structure where all user uses “TypeCredit”. TypeCredit is a new concept I am working on for users to use with the token they stake for mining. And there won’t be limits again for our users. This is where we are right now. I have been checking the long time effect this could have on the app. I am still doing some brainstorming on it and by tomorrow, the implementation will start and we should finish this component in 3 days.
Also, unlike we did on Steem, our users must stake their tokens now before they can mine and this is attached to the contract.
Interesting thing is that NEO now allows Cross-chain. So, we are having a clear path to make Typeearn cross-chain whenever we are set for that, and Hive will be that chain.
