RE: Anís en Recetas de Bertita’s

in GEMS4 years ago

Nice post!
However, my understanding of the word "recetas"/"recipes" is that it would be a culinary recipe - something to prepare/eat. This is more of an informative (excellently done) post about the plant - which is wonderful! I'm just suggesting that the title is a little misleading.

I'd also like to invite you to be a part of the Natural Medicine community where we talk about things like the medicinal uses of plants!

My grandmother Berta was an herbalist, she cured many ailments with guarapos as we Venezuelans say, this is how tea and infusions are called in Venezuela. And she said that they were her recipes. The recipes are not only for food.

Concept of recipe

"From the Latin recepta", these are the steps to be followed to achieve an optimal result. In this way we speak of a recipe for a happy marriage, a recipe for a successful career, a recipe for being a good father, and so on.

Apply to the instructions or steps for making a tea or infusion. Also to indicate how to give massages.

Thanks for the support.

I would still argue that this article is more about ideas on how to use anise, rather than a how-to (which recipe implies in both situations) - but that's really cool that you got them from your very wise grandmother!
