In India we celebrate our independence day on 15th of August and every year as a part of celebration, we motorcyclists keep a ride to some place where we do flag hosting.

This year one of our biker buddies Jupiter invited us all to a cafe called The Coffee Shop that his friend opened up recently in Manipal. I wanted to check it out as well so my friends and I decided to ride down to Manipal.

L to R: Me, Aditya, Kiran, Shawn

Manipal is situated at a distance of 70 kilometers from my hometown Mangalore. It is known mainly for it's educational institutions where a lot of people from all over India come to get a bachelor's and master's degree.

Our ride started at 8 am from Mangalore. Our friend Shawn who owns a classic bike started at 7:30 am since he would take a much longer time to ride compared to us. We started by 8 am and caught up with Shawn midway where his bike had broken down.

Shawn called up one of his friends who arranged a mechanic for him and he headed over to the garage to get the bike fixed. Meanwhile, Shawn asked us to move ahead so we did.

Shawn kept us updated throughout on calls regarding his bike repairs. Meanwhile we reached the cafe around 10 am. Our fellow rider from Manipal Prem joined us at the cafe.

We had coffee, tea and sandwiches at the cafe, chilled there for a while and then Prem would lead us through a coastal ride back to Katpady.

Before that ride, we just took a stop at Rogue Riders Club logo launch event for a short time. It was very crowded there so we decided to move from that place quickly.

Sachin Shetty, also known as Shutterbox Films inaugurated the event. Met him, Vitesh and Rakesh for a while and then we headed towards Malpe for the coastal ride.

By then it started raining so we stopped in Manipal for a bit before catching up with Shawn somewhere near Malpe. Here's the view throughout the coastal ride.

While everyone was busy clicking pictures of their steed, I took the opportunity to shoot them shooting bikes!

I would've enjoyed riding around in the sand but then didnt want to risk it because of the leg. Will write a post on it sometime soon.

The Harley belongs to my friend Kiran. He acquired it recently during the lockdown and badly wanted to go on a ride with the 48. Hence I decided to do the ride.

After doing some photography by the beach, we headed into the highway where Prem separated from us as he had to ride back to Udupi and we headed towards Mangalore.

On the way we stopped near the toll gate to get something to drink as we all were thirsty. From there it was then a homerun.

Harley 48 and my 390 seemed to be enjoy 8k ng gobbling miles like it was nothing. It was a good ride after a long time.

Finally here's a video of the ride my friend and fellow rider Ashfan created:

Looking forward to riding to Kudremukh and Madikeri soon!

Cheers,
