Ride to Kanchibail Falls, Karnataka, India

in GEMS4 years ago

Few days ago, ten to be precise, my friends and I had been on a short ride to a hidden or let's say lesser known waterfalls that was existing in silence just kinda in our backyard.

Situated at a distance of approximately 45 kilometers from Mangalore, Kanchilbail falls is really good location for a day ride where you can chill with your friends who have to be back home before the sun sets.

The Google maps location takes you to the right place. Just search Kanchilbail Falls when you are in Mangalore if you wanna get there and it should guide you till the end.

We left by around 8:45-9am from Mangalore and from our experience, we noticed that it wasn't the right time to leave.

By the time we reached there it was kind of sunny and was getting hotter by the minute. Since there is no much shade, one will get roasted by the sunlight and will be three shades darker by the time you reach back home.

Ideal time would be either early mornings like 6am until the sun rises or else during the time of sunset from 4:30 to 6pm.

The crazy part about this place that we learned from the locals was this... get ready for it: the place is haunted.

So, some locals saw us getting into water where the flow was rapid and came to warn us about the dangers. That's when my friends got into a conversation only to learn that some people have died at that spot before.

Just before the area where the flow is rapid, there's another area where the water is calmer and you can get into it and swim there.

That's where my friends Pratik, Chris and Kiran took the chance and jumped into the water to cool themselves down. My friend Ashutosh and I were the ones who prefer to stay dry and we were badly getting roasted.

Here's an image of everyone from the group:

While the guys were playing in water, I went ahead and captured all the images that you see above.

After half an hour of swimming the guys came out, we got ready and rode back to Mangalore.

On our way back, Chris and I were enjoying the corners at high speeds while the others cruised through and enjoyed the wind.

Reached by 4pm, got fresh and then went to meet my team WOW about which I have written in the previous post.

That's it for this post.

Cheers,
