RE: parkrun 60 - Henlow Bridge Lakes

It is all timed and the results put online. There are timekeepers and you have a barcode which is scanned to log your position.

I usually come around the top third, which I think is okay considering I am one of the older runners. You cannot really compare with other runners as we are all different, but an element of competition can be fun for some. Other guys my age may have been running all their lives. parkrun is as serious as you want it to be. There are no prizes anyway.

Wow, this is a really cool idea, I don't think they do it in my city, I should check and probably found it.

Everyone doesn't start the race at the same time or do they?

parkrun happens all over the world, but it depends on volunteers to organise it. They get supplied with a few things, but the timing is done with an app. The runs are generally at 9am on a Saturday, but there may be some variations on that.

Okay, cool. So it means if it's not in my city I can actually request for some things from parkrun and begin it in my city, right?

I don't know what the application process is, but you would need permission from whoever owns the run location and there may be insurance issues. It may be detailed on the parkrun site.

Alright, man, got it, if I ever get serious I'll Google it all.
I'm just imagining all the girls I can get if I become the one to bring this thing to my city fun and fitness the good people of my city would enjoy if I bring this thing to my city.
