New cars are such a mixed bag. On one hand, we have better safety, better technology, much more longevity, and advances in both power and efficiency. On the other hand, we have regulatory overreach, nanny state surveillance built in, and so. much. bloat. Cars are huge and heavy, and designs have converged to meet government standards instead of making something unique. The little MG and Fiat roadsters simply can't be sold today. Not even the original Mustang size and style would be legal.
