Hello Hivers 💕💞,

When you are practicing agriculture you need to keep records and also know to what extent how your crops are growing not just planting of receipt then you go about doing your own daily work and you leave your own parts to be done which are keeping of the records, regular weeding, once in a while pruning of excess stands, fertilizer application if needed, harvesting and storage. Discuss some of the rules and procedure you need to follow when you are planting your own seed in order to achieve a particular aim and objective. As a young farmer I always take record of what I plant even though is more than 1 year, 2 years or 3 years this has advantage because you know to what extent your crop are doing or animals generally speaking.

  • I was surprised when I saw this particular okra specie start to flower after so many months they are two but this particular one starts to flower few days ago and I had to keep the record and also show my audience what farming looks like when it comes to patience. Patience, also has a very long way to go because you might plant a particular seed then it grows up to become a very big tree and yet it doesn't show the sign of Fruting or flowering. You as a farmer what will you do? What is needed of you is to keep nurturing the tree until I start to show signs of flowering stages for some years then add more of natural organic manure as fertilizer application.

  • After I planted the seed fat five months ago I was expecting this okra to start fruiting after 3 months, but up to now it hasn't Produce any okra at all, so I decided to leave it for another couple of months to see what it will have to offer at the end of the day. What I did was I kept putting more soil and also add organic manure as fertilizer. And now it has kickoff with more flowering stages after five months of planting.

The funniest thing about this okra is that when its growing up it has so many branches even from the nursery stage. And now when it's grow fully matured it has more than 8 big extra branches which also show those signs of flowering stages. Up to this smaller branches as well.

  • So when I got back from a trip which I have been there for a couple of days I came straight to this particular okra plant to see how it feeling and I was very happy to see the new development happening at the moment because I wanted to cut it off and burn it but I gave it a second chance which makes it 5 months.

Hi Matthew, I had to google what okra was, it also appears as okra hahaha I think I've heard it more as okra! I found your post very interesting and I have always admired farmers. I have always wanted to have my own crops! Thanks for your lovely post.

Smile. Thanks for checking out my post. Most people do not like Agriculture and also want to support at all but just few . Going into Agriculture makes alot of difference. Take for instance, if everyone has so many types of crop in his or her Farmyard how will feeding looks like? So much in abundance. Yes but so many of us are lazy and dependant of our parents for survival which I think it can't really help us go very far. When we plant green vegetables in our small pots, space around our houses. It will bring about a drastic positive change to the entire World.

  • Say No To Poverty... Say No To Hunger and also Poor Feeding.

Great post and photo's. We have just planted some okra. I am curious to see how long it will take to flower! 😀

It takes okra three months or more for it to fruit although it depends on the variety. The variety you plant is not a very good hybrid variety or species it may be much more longer than that duration.

Ok. Thanks for that extra information. We will see what happens.

Yeah... A farmer need to be patient. Nature is such a great teacher. Growing up, my family planted lots of veggies- okra inclusive. There are some okra specie that produce so much fruit. If this one is like such, the wait is really worth it.

Absolutely yes when you plant you need to wait much more for a great result hired and you believe in your hard work. So many young people are very lazy to go into farming because of modernization or laziness if I may say.

Probably. And our system does not show people the "easy" part of farming. Mechanized farming/ agrotechnology. Well, the awareness is gradually rising.
