My husband at Calle Crisologo with horse carriage on the street (kalesa/karetela) as one of the city's famous transportations since 1500

TGIF!
A few photos I took on our family trip up north in Vigan Ilocos Sur here in the Philippines a few years back when we celebrated Father's Day with my family. One of the city's main attractions is the "Calle Crisologo". Calle Crisologo got its name from Governor Marcelino Crisologo - an Ilocano writer and poet. This famous street (Calle in Spanish) was previously called Calle de Escolta de Vigan, wherein the residents profited from the galleon trade at that time that includes Ilocos as a key port history says. This was established during the Spanish colonial in 1500s. Up to the present time, the looks remained the same with minimal restructures, but it is very well-preserved and likewise a UNESCO World Heritage spot. Most of the architectures are made out of stone and old-school bricks. I just think it's gorgeous and it was great day tour.

I am happy to read this blog since it's about the history and stuff. I love reading such and on the other hand, I was sad because there were some parts of Ilocos' historical houses that were severely damaged.
I am happy for your comment too, @dennmarc hehe. And I love historical places as well :) Good evening!
Historical place. . Ning sumakay ako sa kalesa parang ipinapaalala sakin yung mga kwento sakin ni lolo at papa
Ang saya, sis no?
The sepia edit makes the first photo with the carriage on it look really old.
