A post without faces........
The issue of school fees in Uganda is always present in our project.
We usually buy small solar panels for the farmers who have neither water nor electricity in their huts. Last year we also bought several water tanks.
This way, every liter of water no longer has to be carried home, sometimes for kilometers, from the well.
In order for the children to go to school, school fees have to be paid.
At school they also get lunch.
For some children, this is their only meal of the day.
Many families are not able to pay the school fees.
Sometimes we take over this.
This helps for the moment, but it does not solve the problem.
Because when the next school fee has to be paid,
we have the same situation again.
We are not an association, but only my husband and I in cooperation with our friend Bosco in Uganda.
We are not able to guarantee to support the children until the end of their school time, because donations sometimes come and sometimes not....
That's why we did it only in exceptional cases.
Besides the stories you know, sometimes we pay for something,
without me making a post about it.
For example, there is the family where the father is an alcoholic.
He spends a large part of his earnings on alcohol.
Because of this, the family often goes hungry.
He beat his wife and she ran away.
Nobody really cares about the children,
not even the mother.
There is no grandmother.
The children are still relatively young, but they are left to fend for themselves.
We have paid the school fees so that the children can be cared for during the day
and get a meal.
But there are no photos for this story....
Another woman has four children and her husband left her 6 years ago.
He went to look for a job and disappeared in another district.
He did not send money and left his family alone.
There are no photos of this story either....
Another woman became pregnant when she was a young girl.
She was still in school.
Her boyfriend's family took her in and promised her,
that she would be able to finish school after giving birth.
They did not keep their promise and she had to stay at home.
She became pregnant one more time.
Today she is also a single mother.
Both the children's father and his parents have broken off contact with her.
Of course, the father does not pay for his children and there is no money from the state.
And there are no photos of this story either....
It has always been difficult for us
to show the poverty of the people in Uganda.
Quite often I feel that I am violating the dignity of the people there.
But it is unfortunately so,
that without documentation we would never have been able to do..,
what has happened in the last 5 years.
There are so many sad stories there,
so much misery, hunger, alcoholism,
so many single women whose husbands have left.
And despite all this, there is so much joy of life, so much music and so many friendly, warm people.
Ein Post ohne Gesichter........
Das Thema Schulgeld in Uganda ist immer wieder gegenständlich in unserem Projekt.
Normalerweise kaufen wir kleine Solaranlagen für die Bauern, die weder Wasser noch Strom in ihren Hütten haben. Letztes Jahr haben wir auch mehrere Wassertanks gekauft.
So muss nicht mehr jeder Liter Wasser zum Teil kilometerweit vom Brunnen nachhause getragen werden.
Damit die Kinder in die Schule gehen können, muss Schulgeld bezahlt werden.
In der Schule bekommen sie dann auch ein Mittagessen.
Für manche Kinder ist das die einzige Mahlzeit am Tag.
Viele Familien sind aber nicht in der Lage das Schulgeld zu bezahlen.
Manchmal übernehmen wir das.
Das hilft zwar für den Moment, aber damit ist das Problem nicht gelöst.
Denn wenn das nächste Schulgeld bezahlt werden muss,
haben wir wieder dieselbe Situation.
Wir sind kein Verein, sondern nur mein Mann und ich in Zusammenarbeit mit unserem Freund Bosco in Uganda.
Wir sind nicht in der Lage zu garantieren, die Kinder bis zum Ende ihrer Schulzeit zu unterstützen, da Spendengelder mal kommen und mal nicht...
Deshalb haben wir das nur in Ausnahmefällen gemacht.
Neben den Geschichten, die ihr kennt, zahlen wir auch manchmal für etwas,
ohne dass ich einen Post darüber mache.
Da ist z.B. die Familie, in der der Vater Alkoholiker ist.
Er gibt einen großen Teil seines Verdienstes für Alkohol aus.
Deshalb hungert die Familie oft.
Er hat seine Frau geschlagen und sie ist geflüchtet.
Um die Kinder kümmert sich niemand so richtig,
auch die Mutter nicht.
Eine Großmutter gibt es nicht.
Dabei sind die Kinder noch relativ jung, aber sie sind sich selbst überlassen.
Wir haben das Schulgeld bezahlt, damit die Kinder den Tag über betreut werden
und eine Mahlzeit bekommen.
Aber zu dieser Geschichte gibt es keine Fotos....
Eine andere Frau hat vier Kinder und ihr Mann hat sie vor 6 Jahren verlassen.
Er ging auf Arbeitssuche und verschwand in einem anderen Bezirk.
Er schickte kein Geld und ließ seine Familie allein.
Auch zu dieser Geschichte gibt es keine Fotos....
Eine weitere Frau wurde schon als junges Mädchen schwanger.
Sie ging noch zur Schule.
Die Familie ihres Freundes nahm sie auf und versprach ihr,
dass sie nach der Geburt die Schule beenden könnte.
Sie hielten ihr Versprechen nicht und sie musste zuhause bleiben.
Sie wurde ein weiteres Mal schwanger.
Heute ist auch sie eine alleinerziehende Mutter.
Sowohl der Vater der Kinder,als auch seine Eltern haben den Kontakt zu ihr abgebrochen.
Natürlich zahlt der Vater auch nicht für seine Kinder und Geld vom Staat gibt es nicht.
Und auch zu dieser Geschichte gibt es keine Fotos...
Es ist für uns immer schwer gewesen,
die Armut der Menschen in Uganda zu zeigen.
Ganz oft habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich die Würde der Menschen dort verletze.
Aber es ist leider so,
dass wir ohne Dokumentation niemals das hätten schaffen können,
was in den letzten 5 Jahren geschehen ist.
Es gibt so viele traurige Geschichten dort,
soviel Elend, Hunger, Alkoholismus,
so viele alleinerziehende Frauen, deren Männer abgehauen sind.
Und trotz allem gibt es dort soviel Lebensfreude, soviel Musik und so viele freundliche,herzliche Menschen.

Eure Arbeit, Liebe, Mitgefühl kann man nicht in Worte fassen. Ihr seid ja noch viel näher dran, weil Ihr die Menschen kennt und sich Beziehungen entwickelt haben. Auch wenn wir im Wohlstand leben und Welten zwischen Uganda und Deutschland liegen hat doch jeder hier die Möglichkeit wenigstens mit einem Reblurt, einem Vote und einer kleinen Spende zu Helfen..
