I found it very useful when I needed a very specific image for a company brochure and didn't find anything existing.
I started to find fewer and fewer relevant free images. Most of them are now under a paywall, which to me makes no sense for the websites hosting them because they will drive regular users needing them to AI and they will become irrelevant quicker.
I have the same problem and it was just a matter of postponing until I had to dive into the matter :-)
