Este hermoso lugar de la ciudad de Buenos Aires es un gran parque que forma el límite exacto entre los barrios de La Boca, Barracas y San Telmo, donde comienzan las barrancas que en el pasado contuvieron al Río de la Plata, estos promontorios de tierra y piedra que copian el litoral original del río por varios kilómetros, continúan hasta poco antes del final de la Capital Federal y aunque en la actualidad el litoral del río se ha retirado más de un kilómetro, en las alturas de estas barrancas subsisten edificaciones altas construidas hace más de 100 años y donde sus cúpulas eran observatorios y miradores para observar la llegada y salida de los barcos.
No pocos historiadores aseguran que Pedro de Mendoza fundó la ciudad de Buenos Aires en 1536 en ese preciso lugar que hoy ocupa el parque. Otros dudan que este fuera el sitio donde se inició la historia de esta gran capital del cono sur de América. Latina. No es importante para esta historia.
Lo cierto es que el parque cuenta con grandes atractivos turísticos, comenzando por su propia geografía, pasando por monumentos antiguos, estatuas, glorietas, fuentes, paseos, anfiteatros, juegos para niños hasta tener un edificio colonial para albergar el museo histórico nacional. Todo ello conforma un paseo muy atractivo para turistas y vecinos.
Sin embargo, esta somera y económica descripción es solo el marco para hablar un poco de la obra de teatro que presenciamos el viernes pasado, se llama de esa manera: Parque Lezama y es una adaptación de un guion de Herb Gardner por parte del prestigioso director argentino Juan José Campanella, ganador del Oscar a la mejor película extranjera en el año 2009 con “El secreto de sus ojos”. Dentro de un reparto de calidad, se destacan Luis Brandoni y Eduardo Blanco, dos veteranos actores nacionales de larga trayectoria en cine y teatro.
La obra es una comedia que cuenta la historia de dos ancianos, León Schwartz, ex militante socialista dispuesto a todo por defender esos ideales, un mentiroso compulsivo o un ingenioso incurable si lo prefieren y Antonio Cardoso un portero de edificio veterano y casi ciego a punto de ser despedido, cultor acérrimo de la filosofía del “no te metas”. Ambos frecuentan el Parque Lezama donde se conocen e inmediatamente forman una amistad un tanto rara y atípica, donde la pelea y las discusiones entre esas dos personalidades tan disímiles es constante.
Allí, sentados en los bancos de la plaza, viven diversas historias del entorno en que se encuentran y también los propios dramas personales y familiares, las actuaciones son sobresalientes y si bien al principio es un poco dura la descripción de la realidad de sus vidas actuales, luego todo es comedia y diversión, se pasa de compadecerse por ellos a aplaudirlos de pie por su ingenio y su amistad que finalmente se demuestra más allá de cualquier inconveniente.
Pasamos una noche hermosa disfrutando de una obra conmovedora, muy recomendable.

There, sitting on the benches in the square, they live various stories of the environment in which they find themselves and also their own personal and family dramas, the performances are outstanding, and although at first the description of the reality of their current lives is a bit harsh. , then everything is comedy and fun, you go from feeling sorry for them to applauding them for standing up for their ingenuity and their friendship that finally proves beyond any inconvenience.
We spent a beautiful night enjoying a moving work, highly recommended.
