Strange natural phenomena.

A few days ago, among the pile of things that appear in the news when a browser is opened, out of the corner of my eye I saw that it said that some strange lights had appeared on Russia near the Ukrainian border, I usually don't open news like that.

Later a friend told me that some lights appeared in México , like the vertical lights similar to those that were seen in Russia and as if that were not enough yesterday I open Twitter and I get reports that these lights were also seen in Japan y Philippines, and I wondered what these things are.

After having observed the images of Russia, those of Japan and those of the Philippines, some lacked quality because they were taken at night, but I did not find any sign that they were false, all of them show lines of light suspended in the sky of different shades.

I have published some optical and atmospheric phenomena, some rare like flashes of green at sunset, transient light effects that occur above storm clouds, and even strange rainbows and halos; These lights are completely new to me though, before throwing out the more logical “aliens” answer, I tried to find web.

I found these phenomena called Pillars of Light that were similar enough to think that it was the same phenomenon seen recently, the article mentions that this phenomenon is produced by small ice crystals in the air that on cold and windless nights can be oriented horizontally, reflecting artificial lights such as street lighting, houses and buildings in the sky as if they were millions of tiny mirrors.

For this phenomenon to occur, the ice crystals that remain floating horizontally need cold, within minus 30 degrees Celsius and minus 5, hotter or colder than that range, these types of crystals cannot form, they also need a lot of relative humidity. above 90% and calm conditions, without or very light wind so that the crystals remain suspended in the atmosphere.

These conditions favor the formation of flat and hexagonal ice crystals between 0.5 and one millimeter in diameter, product of the water vapor in the air that sublimates with the cold.

There is always an explanation, you know if you see static vertical reddish lights, do not be scared, it is not the apocalypse, nor aliens, they are strange atmospheric phenomena that occur when the conditions are met.
