Going through Facebook, I saw a post about a classmate who passed away some days ago. Friends were all writing about the guy's good attitude, how they benefitted from him and what he has been able to achieve why on Earth. This guy has been in the hospital for months, the last time I visited him, he bitterly complained how people abandoned him ever since he took ill, especially people he called friends. Seeing the beautiful posts people are making about him now he is dead makes me sad because this guy was lonely throughout his stay in the hospital, 90% of those writing the tribute never called nor visited him in the hospital, and this made me wonder, OF WHAT NEED IS THESE CONCERN AND LOVE SHOWN TO HIM NOW THAT HE IS DEAD?.
There are people who during the burial of their parent(s), loved one, or relative spend a huge amount of money to make the burial a memorable one, and when you check the life of the deceased, you will be surprised to discover that the person suffered throughout his life.
These are vanity because once one dies, every other thing you are doing for the person is not beneficial to him again, what he can only benefit from is what you were able to do for him while he is still alive. So if you love someone, if you value a friend, let your love and concern be shown to him or her while the person is still alive.
