Success is not in being the best, success is in being different.
This little phrase shocked me in my life when I read it for the first time.
What do you mean I don't have to be the best? -I asked myself. But over the years and having gained a little more maturity I have found a lot of value in that little phrase, adding a different value to the things we do and perform, these days, gives us something special.
In a world where we are taught or are intended to be taught to all think alike, to dress alike, in general to do everything alike; to dedicate oneself to cultivate oneself, in a characteristic trait with difference, could generate success.
To dedicate oneself to know and know what makes us different, to know and develop our rarity, what makes us different, is part of the essential path of life.
If there is nothing different about us, we have nothing new to add, perhaps there is no value. It is as strong and simple as that. Having a different value will generate a competitive advantage over other people. Being the same as everyone else stagnates us, makes us average, with an average life, with average income, with average emotions, feelings and spirituality.
I celebrate the differences, I really love them. But as I was saying, society in general does not like anyone to step out of the norm, society does not like the status quo to be broken. People who are prepared to be different will be the ones who make a mark and leave a mark in what they do and what they undertake.
By this I don't mean being flamboyant, but simply different. Being different is not made for everyone, since in general terms it is very difficult to be labeled as "different" since it is not easy to withstand the judging looks of people, being different is made for those who want to be different, at least that is what I believe.
El éxito no está en ser el mejor, el éxito está en ser diferente
Esta pequeña frase me chocó en mi vida cuando la leí por primera vez.
¿Cómo que no tengo que ser el mejor? -me pregunté. Pero con el pasar de los años y habiendo obtenido un poco de más madurez le he encontrado mucho valor a esa pequeña frase, el agregar un valor diferente a las cosas que hacemos y realizamos, en estos días, nos da algo especial.
En un mundo en donde se nos enseña o se nos pretende enseñar a todos a pensar igual, a vestir igual, en general a hacer todo igual; dedicarse a cultivarse uno mismo, en un rasgo característico con la diferencia, podría generar éxito.
Dedicarse a conocer y saber que es aquello que nos hace diferente, conocer y desarrollar nuestra rareza, aquello que nos hace diferente, es parte del camino esencial de la vida.
Si no hay nada diferente en nosotros, no tenemos nada nuevo para agregar, quizás no haya valor. Es tan fuerte y sencillo como esto. Tener un valor diferente, generará una ventaja competitiva por encima de las demás personas. El ser igual a los demás nos estanca, nos hace situarnos en la media, con una vida promedio, con ingresos promedio, con emociones, sentimientos y una espiritualidad promedio.
Yo celebro las diferencias, me encantan en verdad lo hacen. Pero como bien lo decía a la sociedad en general no le gusta que nadie se salga de la norma, la sociedad no le gusta que se rompan el statu quo. Las personas que estén preparadas para ser diferentes serán las que marquen y dejen una huella en lo que hacen y lo que emprenden.
Con esto no me refiero a ser extravagante, sino simplemente diferente. Ser diferente no está hecho para todos, ya que en términos generales es muy difícil ser catalogado como “diferente” ya que no es fácil aguantar las miradas juzgante de las personas, el ser diferentes está hecho para los que quieran ser diferentes, al menos eso es lo que creo.

And this speaks volumes, no matter how much we want to shy away from it. In this world, we are trained to be robots, with similar mechanical advantages...such a boring world.
If you notice you will see that those who choose to be different are looked upon with awe and pleasure. That is because the overall society doesn't appreciate that, so anyone who cannot break away from the confinements, rules, and norms provided by the society is a demi-god to the rest of the humans.
You do not necessarily have to believe it because it is true. Not everyone is supposed to be different. They can only be a few of those who want to.

You know, you can choose to do something different from everyone else but still suck at it! As such, it's not just about stepping out of the circle, but it's about understanding that while outside the ring of restrictions, you don't have to let your freedom make you forget your focus to be unique as a stand out personality.
I reckon it all starts with an openness to put yourself out there. From that point you start to mold and adjust your own values (sometimes a lot, sometimes a little) which then helps you see the differences which make you unique. Nobody brings any genuine value to the table when they aren't really putting themselves out there.
Nice take on the word for this week. We all have some kind of "power" within that's eager to express itself.
