Russian Eat! 🍲 A Local Restaurant Review.

What you are looking at...

This is a Russian dish, a rolled fish fillet covered with cream sauce on a bed of spinach. The garnish is a slice of red pepper tied on top.

I have followed this Russian family around Buenos Aires for as long as they have been here. They moved several times, the most recent move being a downsizing for economic reasons. All small businesses have been targeted by the over reaction to the C19-flu.

The decor, tables, and serving dishes are all matched to the professional Russian chef, Slavak, who runs the restaurant with the help of his mother, sister, and local area Russian people who seek out the food of their homeland.

The top of the menu features traditional Argentine foods. The Russian entrees are together at the bottom. There is something for everyone when the family comes for lunch or dinner.

I have tried everything on the menu at least twice and several things that are not on the menu, the fish entree for example. . Every dish has left me wanting to go run up an appetite so I can have it again. The Russian potato salad is so much better than any that I have had in restaurants across the country.

The hours have changed from day to day, depending on the fear being pushed by the government. I was there last week and had to take my food to go. The last few days, they have not been open for business between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.

I got the clock tower and Slavak with a customer, but I had missed the Russian bear to the right. Now it merits its own little picture on my blog.

In the middle of the picture above, we find the vodka - made here on site. If you are not accustomed to home-made vodka, you will be in for several surprises.

The vodka here has a kick.

I am not sure if the peppers taste like vodka, but I am positive that the vodka has been influenced by the hot "putapario" peppers from Argentina.

This is a small place that is packed with Russian decor, including a history of their migration to South America. The service is good, but you have to speak in Spanish or Russian. The conversation we have is always him with a heavy Russian accent, and me with my heavy English accent.

All pictures were shot a few weeks ago when eating at a restaurant was still "allowed" by the overlords. Slavak was shutting down for dinner and we headed out to San Telmo for a beer. Spicy vodka, then beer. There was no #ProofOfBrain that day.

I think his English marketing strategy is very clever!

Just started to miss going out to eat more as sat here writing this one. Wondering who or why anyone would start to quarantine the healthy when we used to sideline the sick in order to stop spreading disease. Not AIDS though.

Greetings friend @sponge-bob we already miss you here. that food looks delicious. I think the same, their marketing strategies are professional and attractive so they attract more customers, it is seen that it is a cozy place. You will have to practice a little Russian or Spanish hehe.
