The city has been threatened for several months by the shadow of the most ruthless serial killer in the history of mankind. Because of her modus operandi, the press began to call her "the coffee bean killer" because at the scene of the crime there was always an empty coffee cup, a coffee bean and a piece of women's underwear.
The detective in charge of the investigation was frustrated, afraid that the case would get out of hand. His fuel assistant, a young and beautiful girl who had just graduated in criminology, was always on the lookout to bring him food, snacks and of course the coffee that was the detective's energy recharge.
The detective went over and over the crime scene photographs of the first case, but it seemed like a maze with no way out. The victim was a middle-aged man, he had a police record as he had committed a major financial fraud and stole all the pension funds of the grandparents in the nursing home. Unfortunately due to lack of evidence and since they never found the stolen money he was released. So he was found a few weeks after his release from prison, in a hotel room with the coffee cup, a coffee bean in his hand and the female underwear over his dead body.
No clues were found, it was an admirable job and according to the coroner he was poisoned with a homemade substance that the murderer placed in his coffee cup so that the drink would distribute the poison quickly throughout the bloodstream.
The next victim was found in an alleyway of a bar. He was a guy who was known to be violent to everyone, especially his wife and children. The police were never able to open a file because the wife was threatened and never filed a complaint. According to the clues that were found, that night the victim beat his wife brutally and went out to this bar, he met a mysterious woman and they left at 1 a.m from the place, the next thing they knew there was a body in the alley with a female underwear garment holding her hands and a coffee bean in her mouth.
In the last 2 months 42 victims of the coffee killer have been found, headlined the newspapers while the detective wondered again and again what he had not seen?
That night, the detective stayed late at the office. His assistant came in and left him a cup of coffee on his desk just the way he likes it. He thanked her and she told him about the case since the detective has found a clue that seems to be key to solving the case and that is that all the victims have had a police record or have done some kind of harm to society.
The girl starts stirring the coffee with a spoon to dilute the sugar while telling him that maybe it's not so bad after all, to let the coffee bean killer take justice into her own hands, as she is cleaning up the city and many women feel reassured to get off work and be able to walk home.
The assistant left the office and dismissed until the next day. While the detective kept thinking that maybe the girl was right and the coffee killer was just finishing the jobs that the police had not been able to finish. He felt miserable about it since it is unethical for a policeman to think this way. But he was consumed with guilt because he felt that he was sure that all of those mercenaries would somehow pay for everything they had done.
He stood up and began to feel dizzy, his eyes were closing and his legs felt numb. He collapsed to the floor and felt as if it was all a dream. He saw a beautiful girl come in wearing a mask. The girl caressed him and for the first time in months the detective felt relaxed. He enjoyed the softness of the hands of the woman who was taking off his clothes.
Ecstasy took over his body and he let himself go. He enjoyed every second but he could never differentiate the fantasy of a dream from reality. Everything was confusing.
3 hours later, he woke up. He was still in the office. He was on the floor, naked and next to him the last cup of coffee he had drunk. He sat up and saw on the desk the file of unsolved cases and a coffee bean on top of them.
In lipstick a note that read: Let me finish your work. And a kiss marked next to an article of women's underwear.

Delightfully told this story. When the cops can't because of the laws, having an avenger show up to finish the job is always comforting to the reader.

The coffee bean killer, is as the policeman said, I don't know if it's right to think that he is putting an end to so much human filth, since we must not take justice into our own hands. But the truth is that if it existed, it would come in as a fresh with God's forgiveness.
