Let's make Bonbon Coffee (coffee drink)

Hello friends!

Today I want to share a recipe that is very easy to make at home. If you have a gathering with friends, this coffee drink will make you the king of the party.

Whenever I invite friends over for dinner, the after-dinner conversation is long, and I always offer dessert and coffee. But there is also an alternative where you can prepare a coffee-based drink with the characteristics of a dessert. It is a drink that my friend David taught me how to make.

To prepare a Bonbon Coffee, you only need condensed milk, a bit espresso, coffee liqueur or rum, whipped milk, and lemon zest. The beauty of this drink is its layered presentation, so make sure you have clear shot glasses.

You must prepare espresso coffee and emulsify milk in advance. If you do not have the machine to emulsify the milk, you can heat milk in a pot and then beat it with a hand mixer at high speed or in a blender.

Fill a little more than half of the glass with condensed milk.

Add one teaspoon of coffee liqueur or rum.

Carefully and gently add the espresso. Add approximately half an ounce.

Pour the emulsified milk foam delicately.

As you can see, three layers are formed based on the density of the liquids. Here the order in which the ingredients are added does matter 😉.

Finally, you can decorate the surface with a simple drawing. You can place some espresso on the edge and make twists with a wooden stick.

Now, if you prefer something more artistic, you can put a little coffee syrup and make some small strokes side and side and make a beautiful design that is complemented by the lemon zest.

My friend David has another version of Bonbon Coffee. Instead of using condensed milk and coffee liqueur, he uses "ponche crema" (a Venezuelan drink). It is also delicious!

It is an easy drink to prepare and is perfect to close with a flourish a meeting with people you appreciate and love coffee.

Hello @chaodietas
This looks like a delightful beverage that any guest would love. I'm surprised about the lemon zest, but I guess it balances the taste.

Hello @millycf1976,

The lemon zest is the perfect match for the bitterness of the espresso and the sweetness of the condensed milk. There is also a version that I prepared that instead of lemon zest, I put crushed salted pistachios on the surface of the drink and the contrast is amazing.

Thanks for stopping by! ☕️

Oooh, that salted pistachio sounds amazing. That's right up my street😋

Jejeje that is great! 😃

It seems to me that it is a great preparation, it does not have so many ingredients but a little dedication to be able to make the coffee drink that is expected.

Yes there are two fundamental steps, first prepare the espresso and emulsify the milk. After that, the shots are placed in a row and the ingredients are added. It is worth a try!
