Marissa and her husband had been married for a decade, and they had always dreamed of buying their own home. But their plans had hit a setback, and Marissa couldn't help but blame herself. Over the past three months, she had developed an addiction to civet cat coffee - the world's most exclusive and expensive brew. She consumed it every day, unable to get enough of its bitter taste, and it was her only solace when she had nightmares or worries. However, this addiction was now causing problems for her and her husband, Dajuan.

"I will lose my mind if I don't get that coffee, Dajuan. I can't focus anymore," Marissa exclaimed to her husband as they sat at a café during their lunch break. Dajuan knew that this coffee was disrupting their plans to buy their dream home. He said, "Marissa, you have to stop buying this coffee. Unless you want to keep paying rent to that grumpy landlord."

Dajuan was always the more responsible one in their marriage, and Marissa admired him for it. He would do anything for her, be anything for her. Despite his reluctance, he always understood her needs and helped her out whenever she needed it. And that was why she married him.

"Stop looking at me like that," Dajuan said, trying to calm her down. "We can't keep going like this. You know my salary barely takes care of us without your input. You need to find a way to stop for now, and when we get our house, I'll make sure you have an endless supply of civet cat coffee. Deal?"

Marissa knew that he was right, and she nodded in agreement. She knew she had to let go of her obsession and focus on their future. But it was hard, as the coffee made her happy and calmed her down. It also helped her with her migraines, boosted her energy levels, and helped her sleep better at night.

"I have to get back to work now. See you at home," Dajuan said, knowing that he couldn't change her mind. As he stood up, he leaned down and kissed her on the lips. "Mi luv yuh?" he said, searching her eyes for an answer. Marissa chuckled and replied, "Mi luv yuh so much." With that, Dajuan left the café, leaving Marissa to her thoughts.

After he departed, Marissa took a moment to compose herself before continuing her meal. She knew deep down that there was no way to stop buying her beloved Civet Cat Coffee, but it had to be done. "I can do this. It's just until we save enough to buy a house," she muttered to herself. On the other hand, Dajuan, as he made his way to work, pondered various ways to close their financial gaps without Marissa sacrificing her morning ritual. "It's been wonderful for the past three months. She seems happy and our marriage has never been better. Her migraines have subsided, she is more cheerful and more like her old self. I can't let that change. I have to do something," he muttered to himself.

Three long weeks later…

The withdrawal from drinking Civet Cat Coffee had been challenging for both Marissa and Dajuan, but it was particularly torturous for him. Every morning as he left for work, he saw the unhappiness etched on her face - the grumpiness, the puffiness around her eyes, and the countless sleepless nights she had endured. He thought, 'If I don't do something soon, I may lose my cheerful wife.' Then he remembered his encounter with Jeffrey at the bar a couple of days prior. Jeffrey had told him about how he had secured a job at GreenPine Limited and mentioned that his colleague, who held the same position as Dajuan, was paid more than him. Jeffrey encouraged him to apply to GreenPine and leave Ashmore Group. With this in mind, Dajuan decided to prepare his application and resignation letter.

It was mid-afternoon when Dajuan presented his resignation letter to his boss, hoping for an uneventful acceptance. However, upon reading it, his boss shook his head in disagreement. "I can't let you go, Dajuan. You're too valuable to this company. Instead, I'll give you a raise. What figure are you looking for?" his boss said.

Dajuan jotted down a number on a piece of paper and handed it to his boss, who glanced at it and said, "You have a deal!" Dajuan's heart swelled with joy, but he kept his excitement in check to maintain his integrity. He simply smiled and said, "Thank you very much!" His boss nodded with satisfaction and added, "Your pay increase will take effect in five days. Remember, Dajuan, we want you here. Take the day off and we'll see you tomorrow."

With that, Dajuan left the office excited and went on a quest to find a store that carried Civet Cat Coffee. After visiting multiple shops around the city, he finally found it at a new organic store and bought it in bulk, ensuring Marissa would never run out again.

A week later, the couple finally got their own home and Dajuan fulfilled his promise to Marissa by having an endless supply of civet cat coffee delivered to their new home. Marissa was overjoyed.

"We did it," Dajuan exclaimed to Marissa.

"I can't believe we're going to have a house of our own," Marissa exclaimed in return.

"And let's not forget, you'll have an endless supply of your coffee," Dajuan added with a grin.

They both looked at each other and burst out laughing. Dajuan felt content with how things were going in his life. Together they worked towards their future and a new beginning with a house that they can call their own.

Can I say I love Dajuan? 🤣 Hi there, @esther-emmanuel. Your story is cool and interesting.

So Ashmore Group had been taking advantage of Dajuan for a long while. Good thing he realised and used the opportunity to buy a house and keep his wife happy. A happy wife is a happy home! 😅😊

😂Even I, love Dajuan Hahah! Some difficult situations can reveal a lot of lapses in one's life, which happened in the case of Dajuan. Glad you enjoyed reading my story! I appreciate your comment here and thank you for sharing my post.

How nice that Dajuan and Marissa were able to acquire their new home and also have a permanent supply of coffee, they did it together.

Exactly they did, team work! Thank you for the visit. I appreciate your comment here.
