The weather was sunny, the sea and the overall atmosphere were deeply relaxed ...
... in the small port at the seaside edge of the village that goes by the name of Liznjan.
The old man on the beautifully painted & designed traditional wooden boat was passing by the buoys that hold afloat clusters of clams ...

... a concrete dock for small, Flat-bottomed boats used for moving around the shallows of the bay.
Meanwhile, a bit further from the shore ...

... some Sunday Stand Up paddlers from a much younger generation were enjoying the day on their mini - vessels ...

... and even further ... along the horizon ... the big cargo ship loaded with containers was sailing to some distant city.
About an hour later ...
... while the Mediterranean short-toed lark was observing the dusty road from the top of the tree heather ...
... and various insects were buzzing around ...
... I was approaching a wilder stretch of coastline, about half kilometer from the port.
As I was passing by the bird ...
... and the distant cabbage fields ... the bird flew away ...

... but didn't fly far ... now the lark was waiting on the top of some small thorny shrub while the car was approaching.
When I parked the car and continued on foot along the dusty road ... surrounded by tall grass ...
... colorful flowers ...

... and fluffy seeds ...
... another small bird was leading the way.
I don't know the name of this species.
The bird was always keeping the same distance, about 10 - 15 meters or so ... and was chirping from time to time ... maybe it had a nest nearby, on the ground, so this was a tactic to keep me away from the eggs or nestlings.
With the following photograph ...
... the story has moved back in time ... about an hour or so earlier, I'm driving again.

A group of people that looked like an old friends trio, was enjoying the Sunday atmosphere ...

... in the shade of an evergreen oak.
They were talking ... laughing ...
... and watching who is passing by.
Down by the main dock, some professional fishing boats were resting until the evening hunt. These two boats look like a red, white & blue trio at first sight ... because of the way in which one of those boats is painted.
Recreational speedboats were coming and going. They are at their maximum activity during these hot midday hours.
At the front end of the dock, the weekend anglers were trying to catch something big ...
... while the two - man crew of the nearby fishing boat was repairing some equipment.
On the opposite end of the dock ...

... a tractor was pulling something ...

... passing by a man who was busy cleaning the bow of his boat.
For the man on the fishing boat by the front end of the long dock, it was time to put the work aside and drink a beer.
While someone was leaving the main dock on the scooter …

... and another man was paddling towards a much smaller, makeshift dock ...
... I was walking among the small sheds used for storing the fishing equipment and various tools.
Some of these little buildings are rearranged to serve as weekend houses ... and they look quite lovely. This one, ad example ...
... was nicely equipped with some basic party arsenal ...
... beer bottles ... cups … glasses ...
An old paddle boat that has seen better days was parked on the firm land, near the little veranda ...
... and when I pointed my camera up, towards the summer sky, I found this lovely composition with some planks in the foreground.
Here you can take a look at the same sky some hours later.
I was walking through the dense thorny vegetation, the port was about half kilometer from these meadows.
This shot was taken by a friend who was there with me ... you can see me blurred in the background, surrounded by tall thistles.
To take this shot, I had to lay in the grass ...
... so the aforementioned friend of my took this shot with me on it ...
... and I photographed her back from down below.

The meadows looked fabulous in the evening light. Groups of various plants created what looked like islands in the waterless sea. Here you can see a thistle island.

This is a wall barley island.
Before ending up conquered by a wide variety of beautiful wild plants, this piece of land was a cabbage field. You can still find mummified cabbages under the tall and dense vegetation. The spider hidden on this photograph, is resting, well camouflaged on the dried out piece of cabbage.
The thistle flowers were the absolute highlight of this place ...

... and not only for me, but according to various insects as well. Here you can see some minuscule pollen beetles that were present in big numbers on every single flower.
On this shot taken by a friend again, you can see me while going away from the thistle island.
Twenty minutes or so earlier ...

... I was chasing butterflies along the sunny side of the small dusty road that leads to the sea ...
... and I photographed this distant work in progress ... on the way to become a big hotel.
Thirty or so minutes before that, I was back in the port ...
... fishing boats were leaving the dock ...
... anglers were still waiting for the catch of the week ...
... the atmosphere was great ...
... so calm and serene ...
... as the time stood still ...
... and only the boats were moving ...
... towards the deeper waters outside the bay.
There is a large lawn in the area with tool sheds and small weekend houses ... and there is a children park in one corner of that seaside area.

In these quiet evening moments, some of that playground equipment looked like scattered pieces of mysterious alien technology ... time machines ... teleportation devices ... mind reading benches ... stuff like that.

Doors and windows on some sheds were broken or nonexistent ... so I was able to take a shot through the entire little building, and photograph a piece of car on the other side.
With this photograph, I'm back on the meadow ... back on the meadow, but further in time ...
... the night was almost there ...
... the huge hairy spider was hanging from the top of the grass ... and I was ready to go home.

Pozdrav :) Super je imati neku veliku vodu nadohvat ruke. Ja isto volim rijeke i jezera i kad su mutne i blatnjave, mogu bit i prljave. Rijetko putujem i nemam baš puno prilike tražiti biljke i životinje oko velikih rijeka tako da su mi te slatkovodne stvari i skroz egzotične. Močvare su mi isto super, naravno.
A i more mi je super :) ali to mi je svakodnevica.

Wow, that what we call a weekend post. It's a complete package, loved it dear. What a beautiful day and atmosphere. It seems great fun and very relaxing to body and mind. Amazing shots as always. The shot you took lying on grass is just classic, kudos to your Innovations. Keep it up😊🙏
It catches my attention to observe that nobody wears a mask, I hope that this way we can enjoy the water and nature, the closeness of other people, you lying on the grass taking the photo, I will not say that I feel envy, this feeling is not good, but I hope at least to be able to approach my family with peace of mind, without thinking that I will be able to infect them ,now we are all human islands

Here the situation with the virus is pretty relaxed ... vaccination is slowly going on ... people are wearing masks only indoors ... this works ok in small towns ... but in larger cities numbers are always ready to explode ... we'll see how this summer will go, with tourism and everything.
