For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, I thought I'd share with everyone some photos of some beaver tree damage. This isn't quite as exciting as the quarry, but...these little creatures definitely went to town on some local trees in the local marsh.
Beavers in this area build dams but more importantly use the wood to build their lodges. Once the marsh waters freeze over, I'm hoping to get a good #sublimesunday walk-in photographing their lodges. They are popping up all over now, and are quite the engineering feat in and of themselves.
These engineers of nature aren't afraid to go after any size tree. The teeth marks they leave behind are quite impressive in and of themselves. No fear for these little creatures....
This one perhaps left a little bit of blood while working away:
And this one attempting to go after quite a large tree.
The beaver can knock over some big trees, but I don't think they'll knock this one down. Yet who knows? I'll come back this winter and take a look.
Thus ends this week's beaver village adventure. As I said, quite an impressive little species of animals. No tree too tall or wide can prevent these little engineers from doing what they need to do to survive. With an upgrade on camera happening soon, I hope I am able to share even better images in the future. Time will tell!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Until next Sunday, I hope all are safe and healthy too this weekend.
Yay! 🤗

thanks @sketch.and.jam ! I appreciate it - more marshy photos come to come for certain
Quite the busy beavers. You need one of those motion sensor activated cameras for Christmas. I bet all sorts of critters including beavers would show up if you put it on one of these trees.
I'd love to in that area! However, I would guess they'd be stolen fairly quickly. Trail cams seem to be in hot demand in this area with all of the hunters.
