The Cementary Hamsters of Vienna (inkl. video)

in PhotoFeed3 years ago

On Viennas Cementaries there are several populations of the hamsters that live there in the wild and in the last Years I visited them for several times to take some nice pictures of these cute rodents. Since there live a lot of them on the cementary and they are used to humans quite well they get pretty close, so you can take some very nice pictures of them. Vienna is such a great place for urban wildlife photography because a lot of animals are used to live in the city and they don't flee so early when humans are approaching. When taking pictures in the wild outside a human populated area it is way more difficult to get that close.

Because of Covid this year we probably will not visit Vienna so often because we want to avoid human crowds, so we don't get infected that easy with Covid. I hope I will soon receive a vaccine against this stupid virus, so I can have at least some nice days in the summer where I can go on vacation. And the fear of getting infected with Covid would also be way less when I am vaccinated.

And everything else would also be way more easy. Because we could stay over in an accomodation again and we wouldn't need to return every day back to our home.

Oh, that's funny - hamsters on the cemetery! They probably live well and calmly there. The third photo is especially cute :)
