Today is the first of December and it's about 4 months since I made my last post here on the Hive Blockchain, but not only did I go (almost) offline here, I also stopped using my accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Vero ... until I started to slowly geting back online a couple of days ago.
Back in the Hive
This post is accompanied by some of the photos I have taken in the past months while being offline. Of course, I want to make separate posts about these and more photo trips soon.

I didn't plan to go offline, especially not for such a long time. It just happened, but the longer it took the better it felt somehow and I think I needed a time out, to be honest. And while writing these words during my nightshift, I still don't know if I will publish this post in 2022 or in 2023 ... of course, it will be 2022 and even today, and I have to apologize to you for leaving without saying anything.

In the beginning I said I went "almost" offline, because I still have been here almost daily to look through my feed, to vote and to chat with my good friend from South Africa, Zac Smith aka @papilloncharity, whom you all might should know, I think.

So, what were my reasons for going offline? I think besides a lot to do at home the main reason was my work which has increased in the past few years, and until about two months ago, when I finally have found a colleague who is able to do the most important tasks of my work when I'm not here, I even haven't been on holidays longer than a few days in a row.

So, in September and October I could consume my holidays from the past few years.
In the weeks off work I have been on quite some short photo trips around home and also to Slovenia and I have been in the Italian Dolomites.

There's still so much to do and after long days looking into the computer monitors, working through mountains of work and surviving boring meetings at work, I often just don't want to turn the computer on at home.
And I want to spend my spare time more out in nature, but I also want to try to post here again from time to time and show you some of the photos I have taken in the past months ... and also the ones that I will take on my future photo trips.

By the way: do you say "in the Hive" or "on the Hive"? When you mean the Hive Blockchain it would probably be "on the Hive", I guess, but bees live "in their Hive", don't they 🐝

The break was great and somehow I didn't want to return into the online world, but I missed my friends from the Hive.
The van is very comfortable and I love to sleep in it whenever I can, but I already have plans to build the bed new because during my trips I have encountered some things that I want to improve, like I don't want to get out of the car to get to some things that are accessible only via the tailgate.

Good to hear you are trying the van out already, now to alter to suite yourself and wife for travel, planning is the fun part, making it comfortable. Massive savings when going away like a tortoise with your own shell to sleep in.

My wife is also a reason to rebuild the bed because now it's only wide enough for me and in our age we need more space 🤣 !LOLZ so I want to build one that can be extended a little bit 😉
You can drive wherever you want and sleep almost wherever you want. Since the pandemic the numbers of camper vans has increased a lot and in most countries, including Austria, wild camping isn't allowed anymore. This is why my van looks almost like an ordinary working van from the outside and until I haven't had any problems yet.
My kids like the van and they also enjoy driving it, but they know it's mine, although my son has asked to borrow it next year for vacation ... we'll see 😉

Great investment, being able to drive knowing you have everything you need.
A weekend, week, who knows maybe more, using odd B&B in between to shower and stretch the legs in a bed for a night. Being so central in Europe options are endless wherever the road takes you.

Yep, if I was alone I could live for a week in the van, I believe - the only thing that might make problems would be the missing toilet 🤣
Oh yes, I can go north or south, east or west and everywhere there are different landscapes, one more beautiful than the other, and i a few years time I will have enough time to really enjoy the freedom to go anywhere I want without the need to return soon 😁

The Harley is sold and although I miss it sometimes, I am glad because the roads have become dangerous and I don't get younger 😉 So, now I drive an old VW Caddy that I have transformed to a mini camper van. Now I can make photo trips which wouldn't have been possible with the Harley.

I have been absent myself of late- ever since I start my new job in February and have the same trouble as you- after staring at a computer screen all day, it's so hard to come home and sit in front of a computer again and the shame of it is, we are forsaking the most important things to us- our creativity to do all that mundane stuff at work!
I am so happy that you have found someone to replace you so you can now get back out there and back on Hive again as those photos are sensational and I can't wait to see more!
I had to come back- I missed everyone here far too much to leave and leaving was not a choice, just an unfortunate situation that I couldn't control- life interrupting creativity and socialising...
And here I am and trying to stay onboard.

You're so very right. I just didn't feel like posting anymore and the longer I stayed away the better I felt, and leaving Twitter and the other social networks too was the best thing I could do. And although I have some good friends on Twitter, I don't think I'll get back there soon too.
I wouldn't use the word "replace" because he only does the most important things that can't wait, and when I return I have to look if he has done everything right. But it definitely is much better than before 😁
I certainly will not post as often as I have done in my first years, but I want to post more often than I have done in the past year ... so I'm also trying to stay onboard because the Hive is also my second family to me 😊

I've been working from home a bit and being able to do a little bit of sneaky Hive stuff while I'm 'at work'- a pc and a mac going at the same time with 2 mice and 2 keyboards and a monitor for each!
Talk about getting good at being ambidextrous!

2 mice, 2 pc's, but 3 monitors and sometimes an additional laptop but almost no time for Hive during the day.
I'm used of the above situation, but I still move one mouse and wonder why the cursor moves on another monitor 😂 !LOLZ

The waterfalls in the mountains are like a piece of heaven. Another thing that caught my attention is that there are no trees in the mountains in the first pictures.
Oh yes, and I do feel like in heaven when I am on such places - thank you so much kindly for your nice comment on my photos 😊
The tree line in the alps is between 1,800 and 2,200 meters - these photos were taken above this altitude, so that's why there are no trees 😉

I loved the waterfalls in Italy, Austria and Slovenia. I may visit these countries in the future.
You should definitely come - our countries are beautiful, but be aware of many people during the tourist season.
