I don't live where this is happening so I'm not sure my opinion on the matter really counts, but I like the idea of city centers being dedicated for pedestrians. Especially since the centers tend to be very busy and the sidewalks in Europe in general tend to be very narrow. People end up walking in the atreets in many areas as it is out of necessity. Not being able to drive in probably makes it difficult for people who live in those areas though
