Two versions of one photo I took last summer: this is my colleague at work; it was an "interior photo" taken with a wide-angle lens; I didn't specifically focus on her face, but liked how it turned out. In my opinion here she looks similar to the real life. Below is uncropped version of the photo.

What is your opinion, how do you like the portrait? The photo goes for this week of #Photofeed #portrait challenge.

I know almost nothing about photography, but I can see how the way you've cropped it brings a whole different feel to the shot. The cropped version feels more genuine, somehow, less posed, Her expression wonderfully more thoughtful, a candid moment of deep reflection.
Cropping off the top of the head to focus on the face and create a close-up is a common trick I often see in magazine photography. My colleague is an interesting person, I think this photo reflects that. "Ambiguity," as @agmoore summed it up after looking at the photo. The thing that upsets me a little is that the model didn't like the result - she immediately deleted the entire session. Perhaps she was upset to see wrinkles and bags under her eyes.
Thank you for the compliment, I'm very pleased to hear it. 🙏

Great shot! Portraits are so much more interesting when they're not posed.
I always like to make unstaged shoots. Maybe I'd love to shape the model's pose and look to - but as amateur photographer I am not provided with such an option, thus it is under question xD
It's a wonderful photo. Interesting face, captivating expression. The cropping helps us to see the ambiguity in the picture. What is she thinking? Where is her mind? Perhaps not there in the moment.
Nice study.
Thank you for the feedback, my dear friend. This is a good shot I liked myself too, tho 'could be better' - but I had only wide-angle lens with me on that day, so I used what I can use. (Not the best option for portrait photography...) 'Ambiguity' -- you chose a good word to describe it, nailed it just in one word! 👍 😘 🐈
...and a slice of Hive !PIZZA for your morning coffee!

Nicely done, I like how you added a little more color to the cropped version. Great picture! Was she aware you were snapping her photo during this shot?
