It Didn't Help At All...

Déjà vu is a very familiar phenomenon, it is one that everyone has experienced at one time or the other. There are no two ways about it, we all have at some point in the past found ourselves in the grip of a very strong sense of nostalgia. Remembering things we never did, going to places we never did, and reliving experiences we never had.

This nostalgic feeling is always surreal and causes us to pause at the moment. It makes us wonder and rack our brains why the moment felt so familiar when we have no recollection of ever being in that moment before.

But then, that is just how it operates. When I was a child, I was told that déjà vu was basically we humans having recollections from our past lives, or the lives of our ancestors. But then, this reply is flawed because most of the time when we get the déjà vu, it is usually when we are doing basic things. Like, getting into a particular type of car, with a particular number of people. Unless your past life was very recent, it would be weird explaining how your previous self had managed to get into a car during a time when there were no cars.

Well, I stopped being a child a long time ago. And I am happy to say that I am still not clear about the whole concept of what déjà vu really is. But then, it’s not something that I have been really active in trying to decipher. If not that we were treating it as a topic today, what would plant the idea of déjà vu in my head?

Anyway, to the big question of the night. Have I ever felt déjà vu?

Of course, and I will tell you about my most memorable déjà vu moment.

It was after I had just gotten admission into my school, I was still a freshman and I was a serious student as of then. One day, we were to have a test. The lecturer informed us ahead of time, urging us to read because the results of the test would determine the majority of those that will pass the course and those that will get carry-over.

So, I prepared just like everyone else. I read just as if I was going to write an exam, and by the morning of the test, I was more than ready to take the test. I was sure that no matter where the lecturer set the questions, I would be able to answer them all.

2dk2RRM2dZ8gKjXsrozapsD83FxL3Xbyyi5LFttAhrXxr16mCe4arfLHA37mQtCuynkak9C9VAxm3nacdB7gLmLiZLuYVhHeNsRgxL6WKJoam3hs2B7ZLAp2jwaLFEwoAbLKzAfpv2DhtyvHbJunTbU58RMbxtkvefNK4qj8EA.png

So, when we got to the class, everyone was doing their thing. Some were making noise and others were having last-minute reading, you know how a typical lecture hall can be. And then, the lecturer walked in and everyone scampered back to their seats.

And that was when the sense of déjà vu hit me.

All of a sudden, it was as if I could predict the lecturer’s every move. I watched him closely. I tried to predict what he would say but I never got it. I was so sure I had seen all this before. And what’s more, I was not feeling like I had lived the moment before. Instead, I was feeling like it was a moment I had dreamed of before. As if I had dreamed of the test before.

It was so strong that I was convinced that I would recognize the test questions because I had already dreamed of them. And so, I waited with bated breath as he finally settled down and wrote down the tests on the marker board…

I didn’t recognize any of them. If I had really dreamed of them, then I must have forgotten them again pretty quickly. Well, thankfully, I prepared for the test and I was able to answer the questions correctly. But it was not because I had gotten a peep at the questions beforehand through some supernatural means.

I have had many cases of déjà vu, but it is this one that feels the strongest and that I remember clearly. It’s going to happen again in the future, on a day I do not know. But when that happens, I am going to think of this day, the first day of the month of February in the year 2023.

And I will say, “I’ve been waiting for you.”

Haha it’s good you stopped being a child long ago, because how can one imagine being in a vehicle when there is no vehicle at that time. But all things being equal, I think Dejavu is really an interesting experience to go through, but sometimes it’s seems real and it happens too. That was a nice experience of you. Thanks for sharing with us.

Yeah... what really gets us is how sure we are that we've experienced it before even when we are sure we have never done that.
It's really interesting.

Thank you for reading.

You welcome

If not that we were treating it as a topic today, what would plant the idea of déjà vu in my head?

Same with me. I wouldn't have had the chance to know what it truly means and would always find a word to express myself when explaining an experience, not knowing a word to qualify it exist.

Dejavu is a strange feeling which I still do not understand what causes it or how it came to be. Sometimes, we feel like, "have we lived this life before now?"

At least it's not something to be scared of since it happens to people.

It could just be our brains playing tricks on us, probably because it is happy. Or sad. Just guessing😅
Well, it's a very short feeling and we forget it soon after.

Thank you for reading.

Yea, it's something that comes like a flash and we are back to our normal self. It's my pleasure 😊

I have had this similar experience of yours back then in my days in school. I had that feeling of knowing what the question will look like, it was as if I saw it in a trans but I felt it's nothing...I didn't bother to study the questions that flashed my mind in form of deja Vu 😂...on receiving the exam questions, It was real and I screamed. Only if I covered this question.... well I was thinking it's a spirit ☺️

Just getting to know what this Deja Vu means small small and that's why I won't write on this edition topic 😃

Well... we learn everyday. But I'm sure you've also had the experience. Maybe you just don't remember it that much.

Thank you for reading.

I am still not clear about the whole concept of what déjà vu really is.

Until now, I didn't know what déjà vu actually. But now I can understand what is the meaning of it. I have never seen or heard the word before but I was familiar with what the mean. I am just trying to remember if have I faced such kind of situation. I am hopeful that I will be able to remember about it within some time.

Wow... well, you've learned something new this week. I'm happy about that. I'm sure you will have a remarkable experience to share with us.

I have heard someone saying it's our past life and you have a good point to prove that wrong because there weren't car in the old days.

We all have had the deja vu experience and I still can't figure out why it happens that way. Mine happens to be forgotten dreams and I start trying to recollect when something from the dream eventually happens.

Omo... if we are to try to understand it, we'll spend the entire time without achieving much. When I get it these days, I just shrug it off and move on. Nothing mega.
