When I saw this prompt "bad art" I have said something similar to this before on one of my posts but not straight "art". I see "art" as a reflection of one's emotions, a reflection of what one has pass through as experience or imagination. Art is based on personal expression which, everyone has their experience, their interests and the way they interpret things ,so I will say "bad art" is not wrong, reason why is that a person might labeled someone's else's expression as "bad" bcos it doesn't go with their own taste or expression why another person will label it "good art" Because it met their own standards and taste . Just like we say another man food Is another man poison .
Some years ago, I don't even find meaning to going to museum to go look at some splashes of painting they called art and really even pissed me off when I heard they worth so much of money but today I can relate well with painting,I see the picture of colors coming together, the deep meaning behind it. What a person finds beautiful or valuable might not be the same to someone else. Hence ,what they say that "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder"So, if someone calls an art bad, he or she is not wrong because it means it doesn't align with their sense of beauty and standards of perfection but "ART" is not about perfection, it's doesn't have to be perfect before it gives values. There is a saying we commonly say as cake decorator , we say "Any mistakes is a design" and yes it is, sometimes I would want to recreate a design I saw but because I can never make it as look excatly as the one I saw, some mistakes happens, and those mistakes gives out another design and style and it's perfect in its own way, so bcos it's not a perfect replica of the one I saw doesn't make it less value because at the end people would pause me for a work well done even when they didn't know I replicated a design.
Many artists and works have been labelled as "Bad" in histories but later be a worshipping craft nowadays, My mum will say sometimes if she sees a cloth design because she was once a fashion designer, she will be like this design people taught us new is not new at all because they have worn them years back but people didn't value it then, the don't rate it at all but looks what's is now in trends now, it's now the same style that even celebrities are now sowing,she make mention of pleating, gardass,flayadd and more.
So,I think "Bad art" is not a permanent label, it can change overtime, once some see the beauty in it, it changes from "Bad Art". Even a child scribble can be a art but we usually think it's not even close to art ,because we have believed that "Good Art" must always be beautiful and not uncomfortable but "Art" doesn't literally mean to be comfortable, sometimes it should be mind and brain disturbing.
So, in conclusion, it's opinion that define "Bad art" not "Art" itself.

STOPEveryone has different tastes. I still don't value art as much as I will go to the museums to look at some artwork and wonder how art is so much valued and expensive, although I sometimes see the beauty of these arts, and I get to love them. It is true that art can't be itself bad, but people's opinions of it.
