Prioritizing Health: My Journey to a Well-Deserved Checkup

in Hive Learners7 days ago

The importance of prioritizing our health and well-being is a topic that resonates with many of us. It's easy to become caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, often delaying that much-needed trip to the clinic for a checkup. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I had a medical checkup. It’s one of those tasks that frequently gets overlooked amid work deadlines, family responsibilities, and other commitments. I know I have to go but some times going seems far especially when I feel nothing is wrong with my health.

I understand how important it is to prioritize my health and ensure that everything is in order. Ignoring warning signs or skipping checkups can lead to serious consequences over time. This serves as a reminder that our bodies are valuable vessels that require care, attention, and regular maintenance to function optimally.

The last time I went for a check-up was three weeks after leaving the hospital due to a serious illness I had back in 2018. I had spent three weeks in the hospital. Although I noticed signs and symptoms that something was wrong, I initially refused to visit the hospital. After battling malaria and typhoid, three months after my discharge, I returned for a check-up. I was relieved to hear that nothing seemed to be wrong with me. That was the last time I visited the hospital.

So, when will I go for a checkup next? That's a question that's been lingering in the back of my mind ever since I realized how long it's been since my last visit to the doctor. It's time to prioritize my health, schedule that appointment, and take proactive steps to ensure my well-being. Most of the time, I am either on the bed or on my chair working on my pc, I don't think that is healthy enough. I have been told to exercise more, but I think I still need to visit the doctor.

Our health should never be sidelined by other obligations and priorities; that's the truth. It forms the foundation that supports everything else in our lives, allowing us to engage fully, vibrantly, and positively in all that we do. Remember the popular saying, "Health is wealth?"

So, if you don't have good health or you are poorly taking care of your health, that means your wealth won't be a good wealth or you are not taking care of your health.

In conclusion.

Health is wealth, so why don't we all take good care of our health so we can make good wealth? It is important to know that our life is very important to not just us but the people we surround ourselves with, or people who already made connections with us. So book an appointment today and see how you are doing health-wise.
