How To Use Psychology To Grow On Hive

in Hive Learners2 years ago

We've all heard the phrase, "If you're not growing, you're dying." It's true. If your Hive account isn't growing, it's probably dying. It really doesn't matter how many followers you have or how many likes or reblogs your content gets - if no one is seeing it in the first place (or seeing it and then not engaging with it), then there's no point in putting any effort into Hive at all. Luckily enough though, psychology can help you understand why people engage so heavily on social media platforms. Once you understand human behavior better than it understands itself (which is pretty easy), you can use these insights to drive engagement to your Hive account.

Understand Your Audience

When it comes to social media, it's important to remember that you're not just talking to yourself. By definition, social media is meant for people who are interested in sharing and interacting with others. This means understanding your audience is essential if you want to grow on social media.

To begin with, know why your audience would want to follow you at all. The easiest way is by making sure they have an interest in what your content talks about or uses as inspiration (e.g., a movie review blog or a finance/crypto blog). If they don't care about what you're writing about, chances are high they won't stay long enough. Everyone wants their curiosity to be satisfied. And even if they do stick around for a while, they'll probably never come back again because there was nothing compelling enough there for them to make an effort. When there are so many other options out there competing for their attention, you will stay hidden unless you change that.

Next up: What does this person value? What do they find entertaining? Why should anyone care about anything else besides those things? Asking these questions will help surface some answers that can make a big difference later on down the line.

Use Color Psychology

Did you know that the colors of your social media profile and blogs have a psychological effect on how people perceive you?

If you want to grow on social media, it’s important to consider how colors can influence your audience. As an example, studies have shown that blue is the color most associated with trust and loyalty, red is associated with power and energy, yellow represents happiness and optimism (which can be considered quite positive), green indicates balance and harmony (keeping everything in check), orange conveys creativity and playfulness (which again means more positivity), while black implies sophistication or elegance.

You have a lot of options when choosing a color scheme for your profile picture or the thumbnail of your blog. The trick is finding one that matches the message you want to send about yourself as well as what type of person comes across in their posts – whether they’re funny or serious; playful or professional; playful yet professional? The last one is me!

Write Catchy Headlines

Headlines are important. The first thing people see on blogs is the headline, and they often decide whether to click or move on in that moment.

Make sure your headline is relevant to the content of your post. Hint: if you're talking about cats and dogs, don't use a headline like "How To Make Your Clients More Successful".

Keep headlines short and punchy - the shorter it is, the better chance someone will read it. That doesn't mean they should be super-short though; try to keep them somewhere between five and ten words long.

If you can't fit all of your value propositions into a single sentence without sounding awkward or confusing, just break up those sentences with bullet points or callouts. That way readers have an easy time skimming through what's important for them personally from what may not apply so much at this stage in their lives/careers etc.

Appreciate

Humans want to feel validated and getting appreciation from others is the best form of validation one can have. It is the act of expressing gratitude for someone's contribution. This can be done by thanking them or praising them for their work. Appreciation should be a part of every person's life, and it can help you build stronger relationships with others.

On hive, you can easily do it using comments. For example, you can congratulate someone for reaching a milestone and tell them why you like their work. It will make their day and build your relationship a bit stronger. People want to be around people who are positive, supportive, and motivating.

Help

Helping others is something we've all done at some point. Whether it was donating clothes to a homeless person or helping an old lady cross the street safely, we have all helped someone else at some point in our lives. According to psychologists and researchers alike, however, helping others can also lead to a healthier life for us personally. Doing good for others makes us feel good about ourselves too!

Similarly, if you help other people on Hive in crushing their goals, you will not only feel good about it but there are monetary rewards associated. Through my content, I always try to provide as much value as possible to my readers. They can learn and apply those learnings in their lives to get better. When you uplift others, most of them will return the favor in some way or the other. Helping people around you can lead to a longer, healthier, and wealthier life and that's true on Hive as well.

Create Community

  • Create a community around your brand.
  • Create a community around your product/service.
  • Create a community around a topic.
  • Create a community around a cause.
  • Create a community around a hobby or interest that you have

Everyone wants to have a sense of belonging, a feeling that they matter and not alone in this. All like-minded individuals can come together to make a great impact on each others' lives. More people will love you if you create such a tightly-knit community.

Conclusion

Psychology can help you understand what people think and how to use that knowledge to grow on Hive. People are influenced by their environment, culture, friends, family, experiences, and beliefs. Every aspect of these influences makes up who we are as humans. We also have our own emotions which play a big part in how we interact with others. The key is to understand people's thought processes and then apply that knowledge. As you grow your blogging business and gain more followers, remember that these tactics will work really well for you!

That was inspiration for content writers as well as hive users. Same thing applies on hive sentimentally, if your content isn't catchy to audience, they loose interest and don't upvote.

This is astonishing I feel that social media is build towards appeal and Hive is not different, when one's content don't just appeal, it becomes difficult for them to get traction and this is why people should work towards adaptability to change. This is why it's good to be attentive towards versatility.

That's right bro. You can use the same principles on any social media network whether web2 or web3. Versatility brings a lot of opportunities in the long run.

Brother! I am wondering where you get inspiration to your content. You come with the heat! Hot hot 🔥🔥🔥 backed with true contents!

I agree with your colors and attractiveness of your blog. If you have a good presentation of your blog, people are likely to come by and check you out.

Yeah headlines does a good work too! Keeping it short and interactive. Making it catchy as well. Let me add that, the first paragraph of the content matters.

I don’t like opening a post and I am seeing hello, how are you doing, I hope you have been well. You understand all those kind of things, it creeps me. It makes me literally skim the blog at that instance.

LMAO. Hot hot. xD My inspiration is generally people who are wondering like I used to do in my initial days. Gotta help others by sharing whatever worked for me.

LMAO. When you overdo something, it starts to suck for sure. I totally get your point mate. The first sentence should be a great hook and not "How are you doing?" xD Nobody has time to reach the usual stuff.

Understanding your target audience helps you gauge what type of content sells you the most and what quality about you keep people around and engaging with you.

I don’t really get color psychology though. I’m a sucker at coloring, thumbnail choosing and stuff like that. I mostly just get an image from pexels or any other free image site out there, but I’ve recently seen designing your own covers just adds a bit of professionalism to your post and is generally more attractive. I guess that’s something I’m going to have to work on.

Great tips man, and have a good day!

Thanks a lot bro. You can use colors when it comes to the graphics you add in your blogs. Thumbnail is the most important part of any post. After the title, it's the one that is most visible or sometimes I don't even read the title if TN is catchy.

That's right bro. If you can design your own TN, there's nothing like it. I do it almost every day and there have been only 2-3 instances when I simply downloaded a pic from pexels or any other stock image websites for my TN.

You too have a great day!

If you haven’t made an article on the psychology or use of colors on the customized TNs, maybe you could make on one of these days. It sure will help me and a lot of other people like me:)
