Good Evening Hivers; My name is Aniebiet Edet Ebong but my friends call me "Rey" which is a Spanish word, meaning King. I don't really know how the name came about but it's stuck with me for over Twenty years now.
I am a Nigerian. Nigeria is located in West Africa and it is regarded as the most populous black country in the world, Nigeria's population is estimated at over Two hundred million people. The youths make up 70% the population, that is to tell you that Nigeria is rich in human resource. Talking about resources Nigeria is one of the most endowed countries with natural resources.
I come from the Southern part of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State to be precised. Akwa Ibom is a very beautiful city, it is regarded as the cleanest city in Nigeria. It is rich in cultural heritage, hospitable people and delicious delicacies. Akwa Ibom is fast becoming a tourism destination, it has a world class International Airport, A five star hotel and one of the most beautiful stadia in Africa. A visit to Akwa Ibom will be an amazing experience and I assure you just like Oliver Twist you will keep asking for more.
I am married to the most amazing woman in the world, compassionate, caring, loving, kind-hearted and beautiful. I don't know anyone who is as committed to a course as my wife. I call her Jack of all trade and master of all. I love the fact that she is always ready to learn new skills and try out new things. Each day I keep discovering new things about her which wows me. I love the way she movitates and encourages me. She is a super woman. How can I forget her delicious meals😍.
I can say that I am an introvert, I love my personal space but when I am comfortable with a person or trust a person I become more expressive and come out of my shell. I don't easily trust people but when I do I can go all out for the person.
I love making friends, because I believe this will help me grow in life, as much as experience is the best teacher, I believe I can also learn from other peoples experience. I love my friends to be honest, loyal, trustworthy and have a kind heart. I believe that no man is an Island, that is why I need to surround myself with people who see life from the same lens as I do or those who see life differently but who have respect for my opinions as I also respect theirs.
I believe once you break trust, it can't be repaired. I love people of integrity.
I love working in group rather than working alone, I believe that I will get to learn from others rather than assuming I can do it all by myself. I believe greatly in mentorship,. learning from those who have a great wealth of experience in a particular field or area will help one overcome a lot of barrier and avoid making costly mistakes.
What are my hobbies? I love traveling a lot, I believe traveling is a good way of learning and getting to know more about other peoples culture.I will love to travel to Dubai, California, New York,Paris and Rome.
I love reading books. I like to write stories, especially fiction. I love playing football (Soccer). I love watching historical documentaries, for me it is a great way of learning.
Talking about learning, I am a graduate of Political Science. This course of study has shaped my life in a very dynamic way. It has made me to understand human behavior better. I have become less judgemental of people. Reading about different world leaders and how some of them seemed to have great ideas while they were outside the corridors of power and when they got inside the corridor of power, they completely changed and you begin to wonder if he was the same person you believed in and hoped he was going to be the "Messiah". What I have learnt is that Power reveals the true identity of a man.
The political ideology I love the most is populism, so I can say I am a populist. I believe that the people is should be the core of every political discussion. Some of the elites in our societies make decisions without regarding the effect of their decision on the people. So many people have died in wars that were not necessary but just because a leader wanted to prove a point or massage his or her ego, young people are sent to die.
I believe if our leaders are people centred the world would be a better place for all of us.
I have been hearing about Hive and how amazing this platform is. Being new here I know I have a lot of things to learn and also it will help improve my writing skills. I am here to learn and I hope the community will help me to do so.
I hope to make new friends and learn about other cultures, networking and new innovations.
