So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “UNREALISTIC STANDARDS”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “BAD ART”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community sharing their thoughts with us on the idea of what bad art could possibly be. Is there anything such as bad art? Considering just how much of it is out in the world today. We all have different tastes in art, and just because one person doesn’t like a particular work of art doesn’t make it bad.

We got to see that indeed, a lot goes into the making of an artwork. And how good an artwork is is subjective and can’t cater to the tastes and opinions of everyone else. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.

For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w188e2; tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.

CAN THERE REALLY BE BAD ART? by @nkemakonam89

This author told us that art is a form of expression, and thus, there can’t really be bad art because it’s just the way the artist chose to express them. She shared how a little kid shared an artwork that was confusing at first, but then, after some explanation, she saw just how layered it was indeed.

PRICE WARS: SUPERMARKETS, STREET VENDORS AND FAST FOODS MILK YOUR WALLET DRY by @dreloop07

For this author, he told us that art is an attempt at communication, and the work of art always says a lot about the artist. So, instead of trying to decide if a work of art is good or bad, the main focus should be on trying to get the hidden message in the work. We need to focus more on what the art is saying to us.

THE COMPLEXITY OF UNDERSTANDING ART FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE by @misticogama

For this author, she said that while art can be a form of expression, it is also possible to be bad at it. Sometimes, artists may not know how to convey the message they’re looking to send. But most of the time, the work speaks for itself. In a nutshell, every work of art depends on the artists and their audience, and that’s what ends up defining it.

All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.

But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
