WHY I ALMOST QUIT HIVE IN MY FIRST 30 DAYS-AND WHAT CHANGED MY MIND

in Hive Learners15 hours ago

Hello 👋 Hive Learners family,

I almost left Hive after 30 days. Not because I hated it, but because I felt invisible.

I posted 8 times in my first month. I followed the rules, used 5 images, wrote over 200 words. My rewards? Less than $2 total. I saw other posts earning $50-$100 in 24 hours and thought, “Maybe I’m just not good enough for this.”

The turning point came when I stopped checking my rewards every hour and started checking my comments.

I noticed that the posts getting noticed weren’t the ones with perfect grammar. They were the ones where the writer was honest about their struggle and asked real questions at the end.

So I tried it. My next post was about failing my first Hive Learners assignment and what I learned from it. I didn’t expect much. But 7 people commented, 3 followed me, and one curator upvoted. That post made less than $5, but it felt like progress.

What changed? Three things:

  1. I got real - I stopped pretending I had it all figured out.
  2. I engaged first - I spent 20 minutes daily commenting on other posts before posting mine.

  1. I focused on one skill - For me it was writing better titles. I practiced it every post.

Hive Learners taught me that growth here is slow, but it’s real if you stop chasing quick rewards and start building connections.

If you’ve ever felt like quitting Hive, what kept you here? I’d love to hear your story.

What kept me here?
Huhm, that's a big question.
First off, hive in all honesty isn't as encouraging as it used to be(reward wise), and the price of hive itself had dropped. But then, we are still here. Just means it's beyond the rewards for us.
Aside that hive has become home and I love to write, I've as well found meaningful connections here, and made good friends. Also, hive is a very safe and free space. Giving you room for whatever it is you're good at. It is a place where you are seen, loved, and encouraged.

This hits home @marsdave 🙏 I think almost everyone feels “invisible” in their first month here. 8 posts and still feeling unseen is tough.

You’re right though - if we’re still here, it’s because Hive becomes more than just rewards. The connections and the fact that it’s a free space to write without judgment makes it different.

Glad you didn’t quit. Your voice matters here, even when the numbers don’t show it yet.
What kind of posts have you been enjoying writing the most since you decided to stay?

Yea...
You gerrit.
I'm a lover of stories, both fictions and non-fictional ones. So, that's what I enjoy writing about the most. Also, I do well with any prompt/contest topics that come my way. There's always something to contribute

absolutely 💯

I would love to know if this point are real money and how can it redeemed

Hey @nnuuyomadavid 👋

Yes, the $ amount you see is real money earned in HIVE and HBD.
When people upvote your post, you earn a share of the rewards pool.

You can redeem it in 2 main ways:

  1. Power Up - Convert it to Hive Power to grow your account and earn more on future posts.
  2. Withdraw - Swap HIVE/HBD to USDT, then to naira or your local currency using Binance P2P or other exchanges.

Since your post is at $0.000 right now, you’ll start seeing rewards once people upvote.
Engage in communities, comment on others’ posts, and keep posting consistently - that’s how it grows.
