Boredom is a visitor that usually creeps in when we least expect it. As much as I don't usually get bored most times due to the many engagements I find myself doing, sometimes I still get bored. Yeah, I guess it happens to everyone at one point in our lives.
As for me, whenever my mind loses interest in certain things I love doing, boredom sets in. Sadly, there was a time boredom made me do something I regretted. I couldn't fight it but gave in and was swimming in the ocean of regret those days; boredom caused it!

One thing I have noticed about boredom is that it plays with the mind. And by the time we are done doing that which our bored state of mind pushed us into, we start asking ourselves, "Who sent me?" Lol, it's your mind oo, so don't point fingers but deal with your mind, lol.
This happened a few years ago; it was the one experience I regretted out of boredom. It was the day NEPA did their usual thing on a hot afternoon, there was no light. No fuel, and no strength to even step out to buy. I was alone at home; even the walls in my home were bored, lol. My power bank was down, and my phone went off too. I didn't know what to do. I was overly bored. You should already picture my state at that moment.
Alone at home with not even a fly to talk to. My mind began creating wonderful ideas, and the first was Nkem: why not trim your natural hair? It was a welcome idea, and boom, I carried a chair close to my standing mirror. Sat down carefully and began trimming my natural hair with scissors.
I accompanied that session with highlife music with my mouth, of course, and it was so entertaining. I kept going, trimming the hair and singing. I kept reminding myself, Nkem, it's just a little adjustment oo, and one thing led to another, and I made a mistake at the front of my hair. It was looking shorter than my hair at the back, so I kept trying to correct myself until I ended up looking like someone who fought with her co-wife, and she ended up dealing with my hair, hehehe. I looked different and very bad if I should be sincere. I had to quickly cover it with my hairnet prior to my husband's return in the evening of that day, so I could escape his query.
The next morning, I have forgotten about my experiment with my hair. So I removed the hairnet to quickly step out to buy things in my street; it was as if all attention was shifted on me. About three people asked me, Madam, who cut your hair? Oh dear, I couldn't lie, I softly replied to them, It was boredom that caused it!

The thing is that boredom is not harmless, it's not a bad thing that you feel bored at some point. I agree, It can be a waste of time or even a waste of money for those of us that scroll endlessly and end up shopping online out of boredom for something we didn't plan for. I think boredom is the mind craving for activities, not really for something bad; however, whatever we choose to fill up the mind at that time is what determines the turnout.
Overall, I wouldn't say I am perfect in fighting boredom nowadays, but I have become very intentional. Once I see boredom surfacing, I channel my mind into something more useful. There are many of them; I do this these days, which takes away boredom from me. I can write posts for Hive and keep them saved in my draft, I could decide to do an ultimate cleanup in my home, or even go for interesting videos, or simply rest/sleep and be alright.
Hahahah 🤣🤣🤣 Nkem the emergency hairstylist, boredom can be annoying because of how it tends to push us to do something crazy or ridiculous and it's best we learn how to utilise such moments for someone productive rather than let it mislead us into doing something we'll regret.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Chai..vickoly read it
Better don't loud it oo🤣🤣🤣🤣
Chai, boredom made you cut your hair🤣🤣🤣 sorry but this very funny. Beside you still look great with it, especially the way you packed it.
If you visit my home and you see me doing intensive cleaning, just know that I'm super bored and don't know what to do with my time hehe.
Hahahah 😀😀
Every mistake is a style my dear 🤣
Lolz... it's funny that you cut your hair because of boredom. This is the highest, lol 😆
I'm happy you are more intentionally winning the fight against boredom.
Hahaha...highest kind of doings with boredom 🤣
This has to be the funniest thing I have read today.😂😂
Next time you should find something else to do instead of trimming your hair.
Leave me oo🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, I totally understand that feeling when all your smart devices are down and nothing to keep you company, and then you decide to bring that creativity inside of you by trimming your hair and still getting it wrong. "Bad feeling" boredom can make us do things that on a normal day we will never do.
Omo, i.just dey laugh at that kind of creativity oo😀
Really 😆 🤣
Boredom is really bad I feel your pain , natural hair is really hard to keep and then you end up cutting yourself out of boredom.
Sorry nkem.
Your hair looks really good in the picture
Hahaha...I accepted my fate oo,🤣🤣
