Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. As humans, I think we all have a motto that we live by, some we adopted by ourselves and on our own, some we learned from others, and some life just found a way to teach us that, and we have been living with that ever since. Living with a motto has a way of impacting our lives; there are mottos that can affect us positively, and there are mottos that can affect us negatively and leave us suffering for the consequences of living with such a motto for so long.

I also think for every motto we have adopted to be something we live by, there is a reason for that. I doubt anyone just woke one morning and picked a motto to live by. I believe something actually prompted them into adopting their motto, sometimes something good and sometimes something bad. Some people's motto is based on their line of work because they need a motivation to keep them going, and some people's motto has nothing to do with their line of work, but somehow they still find a way to stay motivated.
In my 200 level during my undergraduate days, at some point things got really bad, and at the same time I got really sick and needed to visit the hospital; at that point I had no money anywhere. That was when I started my crypto journey and had just risked all my money, including my school fee, on shit coins like SafeMoon, fries, and so many other shit coins my friend, who also did not know much, could lay his hands on. We spent all we had on these coins only for them to rug pull at the end of the day, and we could not make even a penny from them; instead, we lost everything we had invested and were left with nothing.
I think one of the reasons I fell ill was because I was thinking about how I could recover my school fee before the month scheduled for examination. I'm not the type that asks for help, but the situation I was in left me no other choice than to call a cousin and an uncle who are doing very well for themselves and explain the situation I was in to them, thinking help was going to come from them. And no doubt they both raised my hopes very high; they both asked for my account number and said they would see what they could do between that night and the next morning.
They stopped taking calls and replying to chats, and to date they have still not seen what they can. I later found a way to get myself checked without their help; I got the medications I needed and was back on my feet without them coming through, and that was when I came up with the motto "no one is coming to save you," and I have lived by it ever since. It has had positive impacts on my life; before then I was like 70% dependent, but with this motto I can say that I am at least 90% independent, and I have been doing things for myself without depending on or relying on anyone to come through for me.

With this motto, whether the help I need comes to me or not, I am still okay with it because I already have the mindset that no one is coming to save me and I am all that I have got, and every other help I get is just extra.
No one is coming to save you, especially if you are a man, LoL. I have learned to stop depending on people long ago. They will raise your hopes and suddenly disappear when it's time to fulfill their promises.
Broo
Better not to raise hopes high at all that to raise them and just dash them to the ground.
Seriously, it hurts differently
Being independent to the point where when help comes it seems more like a plus to what we've done on our own is the way to go, depending on others is like a preparation to fail.
Huhm, your story did capture so well what your motto is..
And of a truth, we should learn to take actions and step up for ourselves because nobody is coming to save us.
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful and helpful piece.
