Bribery And Corruption Has Been The Major Problem In Nigeria

in Hive Learners2 years ago

Good day everyone and happy weekend to you all. How is this weekend going to be? Many students hope's are high as the federal government tries to put an end to the ASUU strike which is the Academy Staff Union Of Universities. As we all know that the country has been upside down since they started the strike and this alone is one of the corruption in my country Nigeria. For this edition, I will be talking about corruption in my country and how it has affected everyone, no person in Nigeria will say that many things going on in this country has not affected them in anyway.

Bribery and Corruption:
There is no country in the world that does not suffer from this menace of bribery and corruption. So, tell us about how bad it has affected your country and what you think can be done to reduce it to the barest minimum.

It is no longer a new thing that Nigeria has become one of the most corrupt country in the world and it's really a big shame to everyone who had contributed to this corruption. I wouldn't say that it is only the government that are involved in this corruption, most of our teachers and parents have also corrupted the country and the youths too.

Have you ever heard how a mother went to her child's school to bribe the teacher so she could pass her child in order to proceed to the next level, or how parents will have to pay their way through so that their children can get admitted into the university. Is quite a shame that most people don't see this as corruption instead they look at what the government has done and how they're corrupt in handling the affairs of the country.

It is true the government collect all forms of bribe and commit all kinds of atrocities for their own political ambition, but let's not forget that whatever we learn started from the house just like they will always say that charity begins at home. Early this morning, I read that Atiku Abubaka who is contesting for the post of president in the next coming election posted on his tweeter page about a girl who was murdered and he was demanding justice for the girl's murder, few minutes after the post, he was threaten to delete the post if not he will loose the opportunity of becoming the next president of Nigeria. Without thinking twice, he quickly deleted the post. This shows that he only cares about his political ambition and the president seat and nothing else. If we don't have someone that will fight for us, then how are we going to live in this weaked world?

The federal government on the other hand has refused to come to an agreement with the Academy Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) which they have promised to solve the issue going on in the country, all they want is how to extort money for their own personal use without caring about the citizens.

Even when you're traveling on the way, you will see someone who has disobeyed the law going Scott free after bribing the road safety or the police on duty which is not supposed to be so. All law offenders are supposed to face the law according to the constitution.

What Can Be DONE

Lots of things can be done to reduce the corruption to the barest minimum, I believe this country needs to be born again 😜

Many atrocities had been going on for so many years now, right from the government side to the parents and to reduce this:

  • The government needs to listen to the cries of her citizens by doing what is right for the betterment of the country. They can start by managing our economic properly and not using it for their political ambition.

  • parents should be informed that in order for their children to get access into school, they need to pass their exams and if in anyway they fail, they should have to reseat for it again. No parents should pay for their children to get into school while those that merit the admission denied of their rights just because of lack of money. Any school found accepting bribery should be punished and the parents involved should also be meant to face the law.

  • The law offenders should face the law and any one found collecting bribe should also be punished.

I believe when there's a punishment for law offenders especially the government, no one is above the law, the country will gradually become a better place for everyone.

Our government here in Nigeria are chief in ignoring the cries of their people, no matter how loud it is. With such attitudes how will they make things better for the masses?
Hopefully, things will get better.

Noted, thanks for the correction

Unfortunately it seems to have become the nerve. They're not even trying to hide it anymore. Though I suppose if enough people get tired of it things will change. Thanks for stopping by. !LUV
