Unlike every other Sunday that use to be fun filled with all sort of activities from both enemies and friends, today was a little bit different. I and two of my friends had made plans to attend church today. It was the first time we would be attending this particular church so we had asked someone what time was the service starting and what time it was closing.
The person we had asked had given us answers to both of this questions and we had confidently taken it as the correct answers. On getting to the church today, we realized that the time we arrived was when they were about saying the closing prayer. It was an embarrassing moment for the three of us as we joined them to say the closing prayer before going back home. I guess that's what you get for wanting to skip Sunday school and attending the main service instead.
On our way back home, we started regretting why we had even left home. It would have been better to be on our beds relaxing, rather than to get dressed, only to enter the church when it was about closing. But one thing we didn't know was that God had a different plan for us.
You see when we got home, we discovered that there had been kinda like a mini raid. The police as usual, had invaded the hostel to arrest young boys who to them were "fraudsters" and they had taken all of them to the police station. The police always did this occasionally at different hostel whenever they were broke. They would arrest you so that you can bail yourself out with some money.
So now we're back home, some of the girls are telling us about the raid and all that was coming out of our mouth was "Thank God" because we know deep down in our heart that we too would have been in the station by now if we had not left for church.
The rest of the day ended up being uneventful unlike every other Sunday where there was always someone celebrating something. But today, there was no one to celebrate because all of them were at the station, trying to get their freedom.
Anyways, I guess this is another day escaping the police (I should probably turn this into a series), I will see you guys on the next one.
