Volunteering is good for body, mind and soul and it offers many benefits for both mental and physical health. let take a look at how 👇

Volunteering builds, boosts and channels your self-confidence.
Volunteering can give a healthy boost in confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction. You do good for others and the community, which instils a natural sense of accomplishment. Your volunteer role can also give you a sense of pride, identity through achievements and accomplishments. The better you feel mentally which affects your physical health, the more likely you are to be positive about your life and your future goals.

Volunteering wads-off and combat depression
The reduced risk of depression is another important benefit of volunteering.A major risk factor for depression is social seclusion and isolation. Volunteering keeps you in regular contact with others and helps you build a strong support system, which in turn protects you from stress and depression when you're going through tough times. Working with pets and other animals has evidently help to improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety.

Volunteering keeps and helps you stay physically fit and healthy
Volunteering is good for your health at any age, but it is especially beneficial for older adults. Studies have shown that those who volunteer have a lower death rate than those who don't, even when factors such as the health of the participants are taken into account. Volunteering has also been shown to reduce symptoms of chronic pain or heart cardiovascular disease.

I have reduced mobility, can I still volunteer?
Be it due to a lack of transport, lack of time, a disability or for other reasons, many people prefer to volunteer by phone or computer. There are many projects you can help with. Writing and graphic design are great for working at home, and in today's digital age, many organizations may also need help with email and websites.

If you think volunteering at home is right for you could be, contact the organizations you like and ask what some of the possibilities could be.
Some volunteer organizations may require you to attend initial training or regular training and orientations
