Boredom is something we feel when we have nothing else to do with the free time that we have, but we can also feel the same thing when we lack complete interest in the things we're doing. Because of this, we either lose our will to do anything or set aside that boring stuff we're doing for something else to get us back our motivation. With so many things I'm doing right now, that 24 hours a day seems to be not enough, I do not really get the time to get bored, because if I lose interest in something I'm doing, I just switch to a different task and come back later when I get back my interest in doing the task. But around 3 months ago, I ate something that I shouldn't have due to boredom, though its not the kind of boredom you think that it is.
It happens in the middle of the night. After around 2 hours of sleep, I suddenly woke up due to a call of nature, so I stood up from my bed, did the thing, and immediately came back to my bed to return to sleep. But after 15 minutes of closing my eyes, I still was not able to sleep, even when all the lights in the room were turned off and the night was very silent. And then another 5 minutes have passed with me still wide awake. Getting bored with just lying in bed, I decided to wake up again to drink some water, and when I went to the fridge to get it, I suddenly smelled a sweet scent, and upon looking, I saw a Tiramisu in a large tray. Tempted by its smell, I decided to take a midnight snack, so I decided to cut a portion of the Tiramisu. While I was eating, my mom came to the kitchen because she saw the lights were on, and when she saw me eating the Tiramisu, she asked me why I was eating our neighbor's Tiramisu with a slightly loud voice.
Apparently, the daughter of our neighbor will have a birthday party the next day, and my mom was asked to keep the Tiramisu in our fridge because their fridge was already loaded with things that they will use for tomorrow's party. My mom also told me that the Tiramisu was already portioned for the kids who will be attending the party, so me, eating a part of it means that there will be 1 less kid who will not get his portion of the dessert. Because of that, my mom told me that we should remake the dessert, and it should be during that time, because while preparing it can only take an hour, chilling the Tiramisu will take at least half a day for the best results. The problem is, we do not have the ingredients, and it was in the middle of the night, so finding a store that sells the ingredients needed takes some time. By the time I found the ingredients and we finished remaking the dessert, it was already 3:00 in the morning, and since I needed to wake up at 4:30 to prepare for work, there was barely any time for me to sleep, so I decided to just keep myself awake for the rest of the time.
So, the result was, I went to work with not enough sleep, and at the same time, I had to cover the cost for all the ingredients that I bought, just because I got really impatient with being unable to sleep. Should I just stay in bed, I would not have gone to all this trouble. Have I wait a few more minutes, I may be able to sleep without any issue eventually.
So if there is a moral lesson in this story, that will be to stay still in bed even if you cannot sleep, and for our neighbors to place a label on their food when they ask us to keep it, so that I will not accidentally eat it.
Thank you for reading my post, and see you in the next one!

For some reason your story made me giggle, especially the part where you had to go look for a store to buy the ingredient that late at night.. Although I know it must not have been funny for you that day 😅
Haha yeah...It's not funny when it happened to me, but I also started to giggle when I began writing it. 😂
Unfortunately boredom make me eat a lot of things that I shouldn't I always eat when I'm bored.
Some self-control is needed.
