Crime is one of the major problem in our society today and to be more realistic our safety is in our hands, it's our full responsibility.
Our authorities have a role to play but when our leader fail to secure us and protect us, we need to use our power and money, no matter how little to protect ourselves from harm and danger.
We have our individual responsibilities to protect and secure ourselves , and not depend on corrupt authorities.
Whenever, I walk along my street at night, and have the chance to see the vigilante or security that works all night, I will always ask myself, if these guys are in the face of danger, will they put you first? The answer is No, they would put themselves first.
These are men with families and reasons to live , they would also look for safety, while trying to alert you on the danger.
This is why you also have to secure your perimeters too.
So if I have the power and money to protect my neighborhood, I would protect them, because a harm to them, it also a harm to me, but then crime never stops , it can only be controlled.
Reducing crime in our society is an individual responsibility too , not just the government.
With money everything is possible, just imagine we have CCTV cameras at every corner and center of the street, a bright touch , that would prevent darkness, that's because crime strives in dark places.
Also, the kind of money you invest in security determines the kind of security agents you employ, money gives you access to the best kind of security agents and company.
So if I have the access to power and money, I would provide all the necessary things to secure my neighborhood, because that guarantees my safety, when you leaders fail to do certain things, you can do it for yourself too.
While hoping that things could get better you could be a victim of kidnap or robbery, so make things better in your way.
My street is one of the safest in my environment and the reason why it's safe is because the neighborhood have taken it upon themselves to secure themselves, mounting gates at every entrance to the street, installing solar street lights , to lighten the environment at night, hired one of the best securities and built check points in the street, without money and corporation these would not be possible to achieve.
When we are the ones at risk , it's okay for us to safeguard ourselves and not rely on the authorities or government for safety.
It's their responsibilities as leader to safeguard us, but in a country like mine, where alot of crime happens daily, it's important for every individual to be responsible for their safety, look for way to safeguard and defend themselves with their little resources or power.
Our security is in our hand , we need to stay vigilant always .
We shouldn't sit down and hope things get better, but work towards making things better for ourselves, instead of relying on our authorities or leaders.
