Method 1, 'canvas size'
With this method, we extend the canvas. so we are adding the amount of size listed in the boxes.
So, if its an A4 image, it will now be A4 plus the added size.
click on 'image' then 'canvas size'
- type in the size of your border.
- make sure 'relative' is ticked.
- select border colour.
click ok , you should now have a border.
Method 2, 'stroke'
Here we can put the border on the inside of the image edge, or the outside of the image edge.
For this method, your layer has to be unlocked. If you don't know how to unlock a layer, check out these instructions : https://peakd.com/hive-153886/@pcste/photoshop-simple-instructions-on-how-to-unlock-a-layer
click on 'edit' then 'stroke'
Now type in the size of your border and select colour.
Then select where you want the border in relation to the existing image size.
you should now have a border.
