From the store to my home, itโs Wednesday and super warm weather and the old flowers have found their way to the compost bound in my garden and now I bought pink ( @ladiesofhive ) worthy gerberas in the flower shop near our house after the groceries for dinner were done.
In the shop you can buy per flower. So one on a little vase or bottle is also a possibility. You see that they have so many colors. The light pink and the light yellow. Oh what a rich look, people love flowers. Flowers love people!
These pink ones I combined with gipskruid as we call it. In English gypsophila. It holds long and looks so sweet with many flowers.
And do you remember when you were a child ( I see it with my kids now ) how did you draw a flower when you were little? Yes That's right, like a gerbera! Colors like the gerbera with round peddels. They are known for their bright, striking and especially cheerful colors. Today they are available in almost every color imaginable.

The gerbera looks good in almost every bouquet, and bouquets with only gerberas are also very beautiful and popular, but again I like the gipskruid. Even the heart of this flower is colorful. This flower is also said to speak with their colors.

How do you sow the gerbera?
Do you want to sow the gerbera yourself for the garden? Then its advised you not to do this directly in the garden, but in a seed tray or grow box. It is best to grow the gerbera under glass from March to May. When sowing under glass it is important to take the sunlight into account. The seedlings can burn if it gets too hot. Not all gerberas are hardy. You will therefore have to bring this indoors in the cold winter months. Garvinea, on the other hand, is hardy, but it is best to cover it in winter, for example with straw or leaves. It is best not to prune this gerbera in the autumn. This is because these parts of the plant serve as protection during the frost.
Gerberas are used in many bouquets it is also important for the gerbera to cut the stem at an angle. Do this with a clean and sharp knife and not with pruning shears. This is important, because this flower has a soft wall and you can easily damage it.
When arranging the bouquet in the vase, it is good to take the growth of the gerbera into account. A bouquet with gerberas needs a small layer of water. Too much water can cause the stem to rot.
Is the gerbera starting to hang? Then we recommend cutting the stem diagonally again and placing it in clean water with flower food. It is important that the stem looks white on the inside. The flower can now absorb water again, so that it stands up nicely again.
When flowers are in my house all looks so much nicer. What would the world be without flowers.
