My Regal Pelargonium

in Always a Flower3 years ago (edited)

Pelargonium is native to South Africa.
Pelargonium was introduced from Africa to Europe in the 17th century.

There are some rules to follow when growing Regal Pelargonium.
She needs to be protected from midday direct sunlight.
In the summer, a temperature of +18 to 25 ° C is desirable for her.
But my Regal Pelargonium thrives and blooms well at higher temperatures.
She just has no choice :-)

In late spring and all summer, I water it daily, but not abundantly.

In winter, Pelargonium must be kept at a temperature
not higher than + 10−14 ° C.
This promotes the formation of bud ovaries.
Watering in winter should be sparse, only so that the earthy clod does not dry out completely.

The resting stage in Regal Pelargonium lasts from October to March.
But before the dormant stage, you need to prune.
You need to cut the shoots one third of the length.
This increases resistance to diseases and pests.
Ignore the sticks, it's from pigeons :-)

The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet
