You are not agent Smith. Nobody's code is the same as yours. In humanity being unique is a fact, even if it's just your DNA. But while we are in the social Matrix that is Hive, the occasional agent Smith look-alike pops up. You know, the ones you can read of some blacklist probably.

So, are you taking the blue pill or the red pill?

In the world of content creation, plagiarism is the snake that seduces you to eat the apple. Once you give in there's no turning back from the damage. Well, maybe I'm being a bit extreme. One can redeem him/herself. But it won't win you any prizes or, more importantly, upvotes. Consistent originality, creativity and continuously increasing quality are eventually rewarded. And don't worry, being original has nothing to do with talent. You are already unique and that makes you interesting to at least one other person. All you have to do is be yourself. Write your own way and create in your vision.

So leave those Ctrl, C and V buttons in the past and be "The One".

Hmmm, this is a really nice write up and at the same time drawing our attention to what plagiarism entails, I like the part where you personified plagiarism by giving it a living attribute "seduces", indeed this can push you to a state that you might likely not be able to control its outcome, like a saying goes forewarned is forearmed, and here in Hive it isn't hidden.
Being blacklisted to me is same even if one is out from it, the stigma still remains. Yeah! We are already unique and all we need is to write in a way we can express ourselves better. We all learn everyday, no one is an island of knowledge, be true and be yourself. Thanks once more boss @rarej.

It's easier going down the rabbit hole than getting back out of it, but's not impossible. It applies to Hive, but also to other things in life. Like alcoholism for example. It's easy to become addicted to alcohol, but recovery is a rough road back.

We all learn everyday, no one is an island of knowledge, be true and be yourself.

Exactly. People often say that they are not good at something and that's the reason why they don't do it, not knowing that all that is needed to get better at it is taking the first step.

A very interesting article draws our attention to the subject of plagiarism. While it is true that when we read to others they give us ideas and memories, but copying is not right. The dolls there seem funny, you made it fun and real.
Nobody wants to be on that bad list. It is awful. Sometimes marked by errors of ignorance. We love to write and share our most beautiful spaces.
